Virginia, The First Colony

In March of 1997, I began a new assignment in Newport News, Virginia. It was a normal Virginian spring--lots of rain and pollen. My poor Yeep looked green. It was at this time that Big Gulp passed away...for those of you who don't know, I travel with a Betta (very fancy guppy).

This area is one of my favorites...located close to Yorktown, Jamestown, and of course, Williamsburg. While here, I visited many historic sites and attended my first reenactment.

This is the start...check back to see more updates...I have some great pictures.

The Capitol

The Powder Magazine

The hospital for mental patients

Typical room in the 1800's, a great improvement.
