HYDERABAD TOUR

Hyderabad, once the capital of Sind and presently the third largest city of Pakistan, is one of the oldest cities of South-Asia. Its history dates back to pre-Islamic times, when Ganjo Takar (barren hill), a nearby hilly tract, was used as a place of worship. Hyderabad traces its early beginnings to Neroon, a Hindu ruler of this part, from whom the city derived its earlier name of "Neroon Kot" (Fort of Neroon). The next important phase of its history began when the mighty Indus changed its course from Khudabad, then capital of Sind, to its present position. As a result, the then Kalhora ruler decided to shift the capital to this 'Small settlement on the left bank of the Indus’ and he ordered construction of a fort in 1768 A.D. Hyderabad Fort, Fort Museum, Shahi Bazar, Kalhora Monuments and Sind provincial Museum are worthwhile a visit.
