                                Biography
  Starting in 1983, T
ravesty originated  in the basement of Steve Calabrese in Westchester, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. Joined by friend Randy Benzie, they pounded out raw, heavy, 12 bar electric blues with their guitars. About a year later, Randy convinced his younger brother Mark, a novice drummer, to drag his kit over to practice. With time things were better but, lacking vocals. Neighborhood friend Anthony Gartin soon started crooning out classic rock favorites with the band. Still lacking a full sound, Randy remembering another good friend's brother used to play bass guitar in local bands, called upon Ron Difiore to help make the sound of Travesty happen. In the late 80's the band was doing the suburban Chicago scene on a regular basis. Most of the clubs such as the Thirsy Whale, McGregor's and the Stay Out West no longer exist but hold many memories. With video's being shown on local cable and songs on college and local radio, Travesty had been heard. Travesty, had about 30 original songs collaborated by the band with most of the credits going to Steve Calabrese, they also covered many classic hard rock tunes. In the mid-90's Lead Vocalist, Anthony Gartin had moved on to Boston. Steve and Randy had no choice but to pick up the slack and take over the vocals. 20+yrs. later with all original members, Travesty can still be heard at various places in the Chicago burbs, so keep your ears open!

Travesty would like to thank all of their dedicated friends,   family and fans.
