My IS200 Homepage |
This site is still under modifications, therefore I will just give you details of my mod process. After I have taken my car to the panel shop, I will get new photos of the current state of my car. So please bear with the pictures of my car last year |
As you can tell by the title of this homepage, this site is dedictated to lexus/ Toyota's IS200. Here I will have updates of my car. |
I first purchase my car in June 1999 at my local Lexus dealer. The car came standard with a Legana Kit and the 17" Lexus wheels. My car was the basic model, but moonroof and Leather seats were added on as extras.

At the first service of 1000km, I exchanged my air filter to TRD sporst filter, and spark plugs to NGK Iridium |

My next modification was lowering springs. I believe that in modifying a car, everything should start from ground up. With the Schneider wheels in place I was tempted to lower my car with TEIN STech springs form Japan. The springs were of medium settings and lowered my car towards earth by 35mm all the way. |

By August 1999 my car went thru the 1st set of modifications. A set of 17" Schenider wheels were ordered and installed by a Wheel and Tyre shop. |

August 1999, I stopped over at my Lexus dealer and fitted a pair of carbon fibre mirrors. |

At the end of 1999 I went to Japan to work for BP Solarex, a solar panel manufacturer situated in Shinjuku Tokyo. I also took this time to shop around for some Altezza parts. To my suprise car accessories were not easliy found in Japan, but oneday I stumbled across a 2 storey garage the size of K-mart full of auto accessories. This auto heaven was known as Autobacs. |

I returned back from Hong Kong/ Japan in feburary 2000 with my suitcase full of goods for my car. On my annual visit back to my home country I forced myself to part with my hard earned cash in Japan for a Alpine MD/CD double din unit and a PPI 5 channel amplifier. I also brought back carbon fibre B pillars and rain sheilds for my car. |

From my trip to Japan I returned with a few items for my car. First was a pair of PIAA plasma bulb giving the car headlights a GS300 Xenon light feel. The second was a double din plastic cover for my future radio I was planning to install into my car. As the Lexus radio unit gets narrower at the bottom this aftermarket product was well sought after and was better than getting a installer to make a new plastic cover to fill in the gaps where the original radio was. |

Feburary 2000. Driving around town I noticed that most modified cars usually had their exhaust modified. Looking at my chrome tip exhausts from my car I was sick and tired of the rust build up where the chrome tip was place. I am sure many IS200 onwers have the same problem as me. I started to shop around for a quality sounding muffler, and was happy to part AUD1100 for a Remus rear muffler specially designed for IS200. |
The remus gave a deep rumbling sound after I removed the factory resonators and replaced it with after market products supplied by the muffler man. |
The next stop was off to the car audio installers and I again handed more of the folding stuff to the boss in exchange for Boston speaker front and rear, and an Alpine 12" subwoofer. |
It took 3 weeks of labour to install the Alpine head unit, speakers, amplifers and the subwoofer into my car, but the wait was worth while as I was beaming with pleasure as I drove outta the shop and into town blasting the subwoofer with windows down. |

I was getting bored with my wheels and by June 2000 I ordered my 3rd set of wheels for my car. AVS model 7 by Yokohama measuing 18x7.5 was fitted onto my caar and I sold my then existing wheels to a closr friend also driving an IS200.

I guess the modifying bug has caught on and by August 2000 I was sick and tired of the Remus exhaust and ordered a HKS hyper muffler from Japan. To this day I believe this is the best mod I've done to my car, as the sound of the exhaust matches the looks of my IS200 which I was trying to make as agressive as possible. |
