My Classroom Layout
Paper Trays/Extra Supplies
I put it by the teacher desk, since this area is not the focus of the class and it is easily accessible.
Information Board
It will be used to update my students on class and school events. Placed by the door and trays, so that it is accessible, but not the focus of the class.
Main Bulletin Board
I put it up by the dry erase board so it can be used for class discussions. I want this bulletin board to be interactive and the area allows room for 3D displays.
TV/VCR
I placed it hanging in this particular corner for ease of viewing.
Class Library
I put short bookshelfs in front (below) the windows. It makes use of the otherwise useless area and allows place for plants and displays.
Student Computers
I placed them in the corner at an angle so it can be seen by the teacher at her desk and at the front of the room.
Media Supplies
I put them near the computer for ease of access.
Teacher Work Table
This is setup at the front of the room to prevent me from having to get materials at my desk and getting distracted. All the materials will be set up and accessible for the teacher.
Class Desk Setup
I set it up similar to the cluster setup, but modified it to allow all students to be able to see the board and the TV. The students will be alternated by a Boy/Girl pattern and I hope to have one anchor at each table to help keep the group focused. This setup encourages group activities and unity. I will switch the sudents around to encourage students to work with different students.
Teacher's Desk & Computer
I put it in the corner of the room to prevent me from being distracted by the computer or other work at my desk. It also presents student/teacher separation and the "sage on the stage" mentality.
