Tree's Sumo Digest
Note: The ancient sport of sumo wrestling is now being exclusively presented to you.  This great sport of oversized men slapping their rolls of fat together in the ring has been overlooked by many Americans. If you can stomach watching it, Sumo is exciting, dazzling, and very entertaining. Since Sumo is not represented very well in the United States, I am going to bring it to you.  My goal is to satisfy the appetites of all the Sumo lovers out there by giving updates and rankings every two months.

Asashoryu (Ozeki)
>>Fighting Prize Winners:
News:  Asashoryu entered this basho after winning the last tournament and after getting married.  The big man from Mongolia definitely had momentum in his favor as he posted a 14-1 record.  He entered the Basho with the Ozeki ranking, but left with the guarantee of being promoted to Yokozuna, which occurred on January 29.
Also, he is the first Yokozuna from Mongolia.  There is not a brighter star in Sumo Wrestling right now.
Wakanosato (Komusubi)

Kasugao (Maegashira #13)
10-5 record
