Additional Comments on show:
From Blue Fish
A good audience recording. I was located six rows back directly in front of Petrucci. This was a fairly decent location to the PA though I was closer to the right stack than the left. I was near enough to avoid capturing to much acoustic bounce from the hall. The mix was about the same as the other nights, dominate vocals and drums, good guitar and keys and the usual disappearing bass. The sound overall was improved. It was much clearer without the booming from the night before. The audience noise was not bad. There are a few close whoops and cheers but for the most part it the usual for an audience recording. The band put on an absolute stellar performance. The first time I ever saw Dream Theater was back in 1992 in Philly and since then I have seen them over a dozen times. This was definitely one of the top shows I have seen them put on. They looked completely thrilled to be playing the venue. I'm not a very big fan of the Metallica thing. I payed my money to see Metallica play this material back in the 80's and had no interest in seeing Dream Theater play it now. If they really want to give us a treat play all of 2112, or Hemispheres, or Fountain of Lamneth :) But the rest of the audience seemed to enjoy it. Again, I'll rate the recording a B+ but it is better than the other two. Huge THANKS to James (Danger Kitty) for putting all the time into creating the liners and being the Cochese on all these projects.

An very good audience recording. Everything can be heard clearly and distinctly. Nice, overall mix in the recording. To me, the show had that "hollow sound" in the beginning but it was not a distraction since you get used to it after a while. The audience seems to be a little more into the show this night as they are more prominant in the recording. You can tell the band is having a great time on stage just by how "on" they are. Killer performance. I prefer the overall setlist of the second night's show but you can't complain with anything they've played on this tour. This tour has sparked my interest in trading again as it's been a blast for the first few legs of the tour. Oh yeah, the Metallica portion of the show is a treat! :-) It's tough to pick which night is better as far as quality is concerned but Night 2 wins BARELY. A little better sound quality with a fine setlist as a bonus. Great recording...a must have from this tour (get both nights)!
