The Pour:  A very nice pour, which made the mahogany hue explode with a nice creamy head.
The Drink:  This is definitely a bit different than the Monchshof.  Much less carbonation, and much more smooth, this schwarzbier has a distinct European flavor.  I liken it to a slightly carbonated wine, with a small hint of roasted malt, with a hoppy note.  This blackbeer does not have a "pilsner-like" taste that other's may have in common.  The sourness, akin to a bock, is pervasive throughout the beer.
The Finish:  The beer finished exactly how it started.  Sour, with a hint of the roasting process evident.  This beer was not a bad beer whatsoever, just different than your average run of the mill beer.  I suggest, that this would be a "must-try" for any collection, or any sipping.  Why, you may ask?  Mainly to educate yourself regarding the various genres of beer.  My ranking is probably not indicative of the actuality of the beer, but it is a very fine beer.  Enjoy!
