2003 ARBA National Convention
Wichita, KA
This is a picture of our drive heading into Wichita.  The vast plains of
nothingness were beautiful to us.  My friend Cindy was snapping some
photos out the window as I was driving.
This is convention hall, taken from the window in our hotel room across the street.
Lobby inside the Raddisson hotel.  We don't splurge like this often...only for "special"
occasions!!  We felt like the Beverly Hillbillies!!
Check out the room!!!  Even though we had a HUGE, honkin bed, Cindy and I slept on
opposite edges, clutching the edges of the mattress for fear of "touching" each other in our sleep.
What does 20,000 rabbits look like all in one place?  Looks like THIS!  Well, this is only
the open rabbits.  I didn't get a picture of the youth rabbits.
If you weren't fortunate to attend the 2003 convention, I kid you NOT, this was taped to the
inside door of the ladies restroom stall.  Now, I needed directions to get to Wichita, I needed
directions to check in my rabbits, I needed directions to my hotel and to my room, but I did NOT
think I needed directions for this!!  Do people in Kansas not know how to do this????  What else would
you do with it, put it in your purse?  Well, I just HAD to get a picture of this.  Now, imagine the looks on
the faces of the ladies after I walked out of the stall and they heard me in there taking pictures!!  One of
them, bless her heart, even had the nerve to ask me what on earth was I taking a picture of in there.  I almost
died laughing!!!
Fuzzy Lop Booth
Tom and Muriel Keyes manning the booth.
Fuzzy convention awards.  Luggage painted by yours truly!
One of three rows of fuzzy lops.  This gets quite crowded in the morning
when it's feeding time and cleaning time.  This is a good time to mention to people
to please remember to close your cage door after you take your rabbit out.  Ever
have a cage door catch you in the face,  eye, or back of the head when you raise up?  OUCH!!
If you had wooled breeds, this is where you came to do your grooming.
It was an outside area with overhang,  Check out the security measures
ARBA installed so no bunnies left the premises!  ;)
I think one of everyone's favorite pastimes at convention is being able to get together with friends, both old and new,
from near and far.  Some of these people we only get to see once or twice a year if we are lucky.  We all share the
same passion for this breed.  Fuzzy friends are the BEST friends!!!!
