| The torpedo ships came about when the development of the class 3 photon torpedo was overshadowed by the class 4 photon torpedo. A new ship design was needed to accommodate such weapons. The Titon, able to fire any type of torpedo at a rate of up to 29 per minute, was the answer. This ship, when remodeled, was the first to use the tri-cobalt torpedoes now standard on the Steamrunner Class. |
