About Site:
I have developed this site because the Accounting Profession is an area of great
interest to me and I hope the articles and information on this site is of
benefit to other students making up their minds about their future career paths. I have been grateful
for the efforts of the Accounting Firms, the ICAA, CPA Australia and the NIA and the Profession in general in
their promotion of Accounting as a career, and the opportunities I have been
given as a result of this, in terms of employment and my own career development. This site serves as my way of helping promote
Accounting and assisting the good work they do in marketing Accounting, so that
talented and dedicated people are attracted to such an important and rewarding
profession. In part this site also aims to promote Accounting, in response to
the criticism of the Profession, particularly from Investment Banker "wannabes"
at University who bag Accounting and label it as "boring" and a "backup job" for
people who can't get into Investment Banking.
In addition to the Careers and Industry Information, there is a growing amount of Academic Resources on this site. They are sorted by University of Melbourne Subject Codes, however the resources themselves are standardised in that they are applicable to any course that covers the subject matter contained in them. As of late I have been really busy so the content has suffered significantly. I will address the issue during the upcoming holidays. If you have found anything on this site useful, any feedback (or even better, your own submissions for the site) that you are able to provide is greatly appreciated.
