  Here is an electronic copy of the handouts I gave at the first/second lesson. Unfortunately the BRW salary guide page has not been uploaded due to copyright concerns. Fairly comprehensive discussion on key accounting concepts that hopefully you should be familiar with before the start of the semester. Some of the concepts discussed have not been covered in class.

  Includes a discussion of what an information system is, and how every aspect of VCE Accounting relates to, or feeds through to the Accounting Information System.

  Discusses and analyses which parties/groups in society require Accounting Information, and why they require it.

PowerPoint(R) Presentations
Best viewed in Presentation Mode, with Microsoft PowerPoint(R) 2003 version, though it should work on any other version.

• Accounting Principles and Qualitative Characteristics of Reports
  A PowerPoint(R) presentation on the fundamental topic of Accounting Principles and Qualitative Characteristics of Reports, as well as some information about their application to mainstream Accounting and discussion on the requirements of the study design in relation to this topic.

  Follow this link to a very old (but same study design so still relevant) test suitable for VCE and also introductory accounting. The amortisation question is doable but is not technically on the study design.
