Jebidiah Smith, hunter, trapper, teller of tall tales is a son of a mountain man. His father was a French Canadian and his mother was a Chippewa Indian. They traveled from Hudson Bay in Canada to the Everglades in Florida from the Dakotas to the Carolinas, telling American folklore stories.
