All Apologies *Here is the email(s) I got from the person who sent this disc to me: *My band was recording at Pachyderm Studios last month, and we came across a DAT of In Utero mixes that we've never heard. They're pre-overdub versions-different than the "In Utro Raw Mixes" bootleg floating around (better sounding too). I made this disc from a DAT we found in the Pachyderm Studio vaults. It was labeled as scratch tracks. I'm assuming it was made as a reference tape for the band to hear how the songs sounded. The cool thing is that the drum tracks are the same ones that appear on the album, but most of the guitar and bass tracks are different, or have been doubled for the album. With the exception of the two part screams at the end of Rape Me, the vocals are only one track - no overdubs or harmonies. The sound is incredible - seeing as how it's basicaly straight from the master tapes. Other than that, I don't know what more to tell you. Yeah, we got to listen to it in the control room where it was recorded, and it was amazing! As far as I can tell, these versions haven't been circulated. |
