1. Unknown TRESNER. The name TRESNER may have been spelled FRESNER, TRUSNER, or
TREASNER in Germany. There may even be some relationship to or the name may
have been Dresner, as in the family listed in Schindlers List.

GENERATION
2. Philip TRESNER I was born on December 15, 1761
in Prussia, Germany. He died on August
2, 1833 in Greencaslte, Putnam County, Indiana. Philip Tresner (I) came to the US in 1779. Lived in Baltimore, Maryland. He moved to
Kentucky in 1799. After marrying he
moved to Putnam County, Indiana in 1825.
He was married to Charity
BELLISFIELD (daughter of Peter BELLISFIELD and Elizabeth HUFFMAN ) on April 20, 1802 in Baltimore, Maryland. Phillip and Charity may have been married in
Kentucky. Information from Ralph D.
Tresner shows this as the place of marriage. Charity
BELLISFIELD was born on November 17, 1781 in Kentucky. She died on February 29, 1864 in Edgar
County, Illinois. In 1861 Charity
Tresner moved to Illinois with her son Morgan Tresner. The name Bellisfield has
been changed a number of times; the original German name was BOLLESFELDT;
variations are: BELLOWSFELT, BELLISFIELD, BELLIS, BELLES, and BELLAS. Philip TRESNER I and Charity BELLISFIELD had
the following children:

RICE on June 6, 1807 in Garrard County, Kentucky. Betsy RICE
was born about 1780. Jacob TRESNER and

4. Peter TRESNER was born in 1804 in Kentucky. He died in Dade County, Missouri.
He was married to Barbara
ALLSPAUGH on September 8, 1826 in Putnam Co., Indiana. Barbara
ALLSPAUGH died in Dade County, Missouri.
5. Margaret TRESNER was born between 1806 and 1810
in Kentucky. She died in Putnam County,
Indiana.
She was married to Thomas
GIBBS on May 29, 1827 in Garrad County, Indiana. Thomas
GIBBS died in Putnam County, Indiana.

6. Nancy TRESNER was born in 1812 in Kentucky. She died in Putnam County, Indiana.
She was married to Ephriam
ALLSPAUGH on October 26, 1827 in Garrad County, Indiana. Ephriam
ALLSPAUGH died in Putnam County, Indiana.
7. Sarah (Saddie) TRESNER was born in 1816 in
Kentucky. She died in Niangua,
Missouri. Sarah Tresner married Hiram
Tresner a cousin. After Hiram Tresner died in Putnam County, Indiana Sarah
moved to Edgar County, Illinois for several years and then moved to Nianqua,
Missouri.
She was married to Hiram
TRESNER (son of Jacob TRESNER and Betsy RICE ) on March 26, 1835 in Putnam County, Indiana. Hiram
TRESNER was born in 1810. He died
in 1863 in Putnam County, Indiana. Sarah
(Saddie) TRESNER and Hiram TRESNER had the following children:

8. Philip TRESNER II was born on April 27, 1818 in
Kentucky. He died on February 20, 1897
in Washington County, Arkansas. Ralph
D. TRESNER states Phillip TRESNER died in Fayetteville, Ark. Documents from
Nathan Fay TRESNER place the death also in Washington County near Fayetteville. He was buried in Round Mountian
Cemetery. Round Mountain Cemetery is
five miles east of Fayetteville. Philip
and Laura Tresner moved to Missouri in 1848 and then back to
Putnam County. They moved to Edgar County, Illinois in Sep
1866 and on to Labett County, Kansas, and on to Chautauqua County, Kansas in
1869. In 1878 they moved to Washington
County, Arkansas.
The 1860 Census list a JNO.
TRESNER in Madison Twsp, Putnam County, Indiana as 42 yrs old m. to Flora S.
age 40 b. Ohio. This is probably Philip
TRSNER and the name Flora could have been written instead of Laura. They also had a daughter listed as age 7
named Laura and Laura Marie was born in 1853 making her 7 yrs old.
He was married to Laura
Scranton WILLIAMS (daughter of William WILLIAMS and Jerusha GIELETT) on February 21, 1838 in Putnam County, Indiana. Laura
Scranton WILLIAMS was born on November 5, 1821 in Ohio. She died in 1903 in Washington County,
Arkansas. She was buried in Round
Mountain Cemetery, Arkansas. Round Mountain
Cemetery is five miles east of Fayetteville, Arkansas Philip TRESNER II and Laura Scranton WILLIAMS had the following
children:

9. Morgan TRESNER was born on April 11, 1820 in
Kentucky. He died on May 5, 1876 in
Edgar County, Illinois. Morgan TRESNER
moved to Park County, Indiana in 1853 but moved back to Putnam County in
1856. In Nov 1861, they moved to Edgar
County, Illinois. In Sep 1866 they
moved to Labette County, Kansas, but were so dissatisfied that they moved back
to Illinois in Apr 1868.
The 1860 Census list
reports Morgan TRESNER in Madison Twsp, Putnam County, Indiana as a Farmer with
real estate valued at $1,000 and a personal estate of $200. At the time of this
census Morgan’s mother Charity (Ella) Tresner was living at his home in
Greencastle, Ind.
He was married to Martha
Anna COPELAND (daughter of Daniel COPELAND and Sophia
PROBST ) on September 8, 1845 in Putnam County, Indiana. Martha
Anna COPELAND was born on December 25, 1828 in North Carolina. She was buried in 1901 in Oak Grove
Cemetery, Stratton Twp.. She died on
July 26, 1901 in Edgar County, Illinois.
Martha Anna COPELAND moved to Putnam County, Indiana with her foster
parents, Henry and Katy Carpenter in 1835.
Martha Anna's father Daniel Copeland went to South Carolina in 1830 to
help subdue the slaves who had rebelled, and trying to cross a river on horse
back he and several others of the Company were washed down stream and
died. Morgan TRESNER and Martha Anna
COPELAND had the following children:

1846).

1848).

32 vi. James F. "Jim" TRESNER was born on
April 7, 1858 in Putnam County, Indiana.
He died on May 7, 1919 in Murdock, Douglas Co., Illinois. James F. TRESNER moved to Edgar county,
Illinois in 1861 with his parents. He
moved to Douglas County, Illinois in 1889 but moved back
to Edgar County, Illinois
with his mother in 1896. He went to
Oklahoma 23 Dec 1905 and lived there several years then moved to Texas, but
having lost his health and contracted asthma came to the home of his sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. B.O. FARRIS in 1915. In Jun 1918 he went to
Illinois to live with his sister, Ella THOMAS, and died at her home.

April 15, 1866).
+34 viii. Sarah M. "Sadie" TRESNER (born on May
30, 1869).
10. Hiram TRESNER was born in 1810. He died in 1863 in Putnam County, Indiana.
He was married to Sarah
(Saddie) TRESNER (daughter of Philip TRESNER I and Charity BELLISFIELD ) on March 26, 1835 in Putnam County, Indiana. Sarah
(Saddie) TRESNER was born in 1816 in Kentucky. She died in Niangua, Missouri.
Sarah Tresner married Hiram Tresner a cousin. After Hiram Tresner died
in Putnam County, Indiana Sarah moved to Edgar County, Illinois for several
years and then moved to Nianqua, Missouri.
