The Slowking Trilogy

This is a small standalone story, detailing events which occur just before the Nightshade Trilogy. This series focuses on Letitia, the ex Oversight agent, and her own little journey of self discovery.

In places this series is very dark, as this gal has seen some pretty scary things, but there is also a light and cheerful side to it, so I suggest only people who like silly, yet serious stories read this. Not one for the kids!

It was finally over.

Letitia sighed and collapsed onto a bench in the cafeteria, feeling cold and empty. Four years of pain and misery were all over. Oversight was now dissolved, Giovanni was the undisputed leader again, and… He had triumphed again.

Letitia wasn’t sure who scared her the most. Oversight, or… Him. The figure who controlled and manipulated Team Rocket to bend to his will, the figure who had scared even the insidious Oversight. The figure whom she had attempted to betray. She had little choice in the matter, after all, when you were given a mission it wasn’t exactly the smart thing to say that you would rather not. Oversight had taken hold of her for four years, twisted and manipulated her until she was nothing but an empty shell. An automaton, which they could control and which they could use to control others, for that was Oversights real power. Fear.

They were just a roumer in Team Rocket, something which members half joked about, and half dreamed about at night. They were reputed to be the Team’s internal affairs department, ruthless and pure evil, taking great pleasure in the harm and devastation they inflicted on the world.

They weren’t even roumer, nor were they whispered about in darkened halls. They were beyond that. They were the things members did everything in their power to forget about, in the hope that they didn’t draw any undue attention. Even Giovanni was said to have had a deep distrust of them.

But He had tricked them. The figure had deceived and fooled them, and at the moment when they believed they had Him, when they were about to destroy Him, he had simply smiled and clicked his fingers. About 100 members of the command and Danin division’s were there now, mopping up the wreckage, hunting for any survivors. Giovanni was very pleased with the young man, and roumer’s were abound that he may get a comendadtion, even command of his own division because of this service he had performed for the team.

He scared Letitia.

She had been an Oversight agent for four years, and had seen such stomach churning evil, such insane vile slaughter perpetrated by her superiors, but he still scared her even more. The final showdown, between him and The Unnamed, the head of Oversight, was one which would be permanently etched on her brain for eternity. The sweet charming man in the terrifying leather uniform of Oversight, and the dry calm figure in a black nehru suit. The air had been still and strained, and any fool could see these two were truly deadly.

The figure had won, and as the agents burst into the room, The Unnamed turned his head to hers, and smiled a truly horrific smile of pure sweetness, of pure untainted innocent evil, that she nearly caved in and died, before someone sliced his throat.

She had nearly been set on as well, but just as the rocket member advanced on her, she felt a hand fall lightly on the shoulder, and she turned to see the figure looking enquiringly at the Danin agent. He wisely backed off.

Letitia was sick several times later, and after it had been made clear she had been an agent of the figure, and he would be… upset if anything happened to her, she was left alone.

And now here she was, quietly sobbing to herself, afraid and alone. And scared.

The figure watched her from the shadows. He had plans.
