Here Don is takeing some pictures of the smokies at one of the stops we made. The Smokies are sure liveing up to their name this morning. there is a mist hanging in the valleys and on the side of the mountain. It was dreary but beautiful.

Here we are up in the Smokies and Floyd has put on his leather jacket. I think here is where I put on my rain jacket. It is a damp cold here. You can see the mist hanging in the back ground, this makes it cool.

This shot is straight down a valley. The glow on the mist made this shot turn out underexposed, and didn't do the senery any justice. It was beautiful to the human eye.

I finally got a shot with Shaynes truck in it. I had about decided he wasn't along on the trip. ha We had stopped here On Top Of Old Smokie, (soundl like a good title for a song. ha) to look at the scenery and check our gear, before starting off the other side into North Carolina.

Her we had stopped on the edge of Fontanna lake, after crossing the Smokies and coming through Cherokee, and Bryson City, North Carolina. We stopped and ate breakfast, but I don't think anyone took pictures. It looked like rain and we just concentrated on getting through the Dragon and on toward Home.

We finaly made Deals Gap, the beginning or the end of the gragon, whichever way you are going. From North Carolina side it is the beginning, from Tennessee side it is the ending. Since we came from North Carolina it was the start for us. This is a small shop with souveniers, gas, motel and camp ground, all stuffed in a small valley.

As you can see here it is crowded. There are motorcycles everywhere, all different kinds. Trikes, crotch rockets, cruisers, touring and all brands. Some there to try and whip the Dragon and most there to ride the Dragon. The goal of most dedicated crotch rocket riders, is to ride the 318 curves, (11 miles) in 11 minutes. For us on trikes, just to ride through and enjoy the scenery.

Her is a shot of the Zar from the Lone Star, Floyd Flud. He is makeing his way to the souvenier shop to fight the crowd for a couple of shirts and stickers. On second thought he may be using that bush like a doggie uses a fire hydrant. ha Naw.
