I left Pleasant Shade, Tn., at 00:05 am Central time, on Sat. the 7th. of Aug., 2004. I rode 1023 miles to Brewster Ks., arriveing at 4:51 Mountain time. 5:51 Central time. This should qualify me for the Saddle Sore, Iron Butt award. I then rode back to Colby Ks. where I met up with Floyd Flud and a couple of guys from Texas. Ron and William. Below are shots of them getting ready to ride. Early in the morning so the pictures are dark.
We stopped her in a little community to regroup our thoughts. ha I don't know where we were.
Another stop , who knows where? We were close to the plack shown in the picture below.
We had stopped in Logan County, (I think in Nebraska,)to gas up.
Floyd once again blazeing the trail for me, Ron and William to follow.
I sure hope Floyd knows where he is going, there arn't many land marks out here. Neither are there many side roads, so it is a straight shot to somewhere.
We have stopped here at the state line between Nebraska and South Dakota. Each time we changed states where the Helmet law changed, we would have to stop and put on or pull off, whichever. I couldn't ride without mine. The wind would jar my glasses around so bad I could hardly see, so I just wore mine.
When we got to Rapid City South Dakota, and The Berry Patch camp grounds. The first thing that cought my eye was this rat trike. He had so much stuff on it you couldn't hardly see a trike. There was a mounted Boars head on the front with a ham bone in its mouth, there was dolls and figures stuck everywhere. even a male urnial pan. ha I guess this was for those out of the way place we had just passed through, where you gotta go.
