Trillian v0.722 AIM Reconnection Temporary Fix

1. Turn off auto-reconnect. Preferences->AIM->"Reconnect on Disconnect" UNCHECKED.
2. Try to connect to AIM. Make sure the status window is open and you can see the stopwatch in the corner.
3. Note the time (seconds on the stopwatch) you get your "Successfully connected to AIM" message.
4. Disconnect
5. Right-click on the status window, select "Join a Chat Room", and enter in a chat room name (suggestion: use Trillian) BUT DO NOT JOIN YET.
6. Reconnect to AIM. 3 seconds before the time you got your connect message (see step 3), join the chat room.
7. That should do it. If you get disconnected, just keep trying these steps.

* If this does not work for you, or you are on a faster internet connection, try to Connect to AIM -> Join a chat room -> Disconnect (BUT LEAVE THE CHAT ROOM OPEN) -> Reconnect...this will allow you to auto-reconnect to the chat room, basically entering at 0 seconds. This method has worked for me twice while the previous ones did not.

Note: you do not have to remain in your chat room once you're connected. However, please let us know in EFNet #Trillian (if you are connected) whether the fix worked for you, and that you used the webpage instructions.
