On October 15th, 2006 we adopted this two-three year old beauty from this shelter:
Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley.
Her name is Gypsy and we believe she is all Husky, or maybe a husky Shepard mix. She has a bark, and that is unusual for pure huskies. Needless to say, she is well-trained, and whoever owned her before must have treated her fairly well. She needs time to get to know her new environment but is adapting pretty decently. Our two cats are not too terribly happy about her, but they are slllllllllowwwwwwwwwwwllllyyyyyyyy coming around:). They are now able to leave the bedroom when she is in the living room, and tolerate her existence, for the most part.  Gypsy loves her stuffed animals and loves to play catch. She is a very good girl most of the time, but still needs to earn our trust. I am hoping that eventually she will be able to be trusted enough to stay out of her crate when we are not home, and then at night. For now, she doesn't mind it much. She goes into her crate without a problem at night, sleeping on the pink doggy bed I made for her.

Gypsy's First Christmas with us! She had lots of toys left to her by Santa and by us! She got spoiled:)!
She easily adjusted to her new home...although...she did try and run away a few times in the early months:)!Not sure why, she looks so happy here!
Some of Gypsy's other firsts with us were her first snowfall, and her first hike to Peeble's Island. She wasn't too thrilled about the snow, but she LOVES playing with her stuffed animals and being outdoors. Here are some other pics of her just enjoying us and life!
Her stuffed animals tend to double as pillows on occassion!
