Connecting the TrinfactorGP

The TrinfactorGP has three cable connections with external parts and devices which need to be established before the sensor can be used with the RCX brick. The connections are with the GP2D12 sensor, RCX brick and external commercial 9[V] battery (please refer to connection diagram below).

-
Connection with the GP2D12 sensor:
The GP2D12 sensor comes with the cable which on one end has little white connector that plugs in the black box of the sensor itself. The other end of the cable is a three pin connector which can be directly connected to the TrinfactorGP.

-
Connection with the RCX brick:
On the TrinfactorGP there is a 4 position terminal block which is used to connect the battery and the RCX brick. Two inside positions are used to connect the TrinfactorGP to the RCX brick. The connection cable can be made using standard LEGOŠ cable which has two LEGOŠ parts on each end of the cable. One part should be used as a connection to the RCX brick, while second part should be cut-off and two wires should be stripped and attached in the two inside positions on the terminal block of the TrinfactorGP. The order of the two wires does not matter, it is only important that these two wires are attached at two inside positions of the terminal block.

-
Connection with the commercial 9[V] battery:
The battery has two terminals, the positive (+) and negative (-). These two terminals connect to the two outside positions of the terminal block of the TrinfactorGP.
THE ORDER OF THE BATTERY CABLE MATTERS. The positive terminal of the battery has to be connected to the most outer position of the terminal block (closest to the edge of the TrinfactorGP). The negative terminal of the battery has to be connected to the second position of the terminal block (second from the edge of the TrinfactorGP).
