BLEEDING HEART

He is placed on a pedestal
Esteemed, loved, up high
He's everything shes wished for
Her ultimate, perfect guy
He steps down off his dais
For reasons unknown
She waves to his uncaring back
As he walks slowly home
Her dreams are full of nightmares
She cries herself to sleep
Revolves around the maelstrom
Soon to hit the bottom deep
She can't live without him
He doesn't want to live with her
Her heart has truly broken
Shattered shards grind into hurt
He said that it meant nothing
It wasn't meant to be
He's wrong, she screams, with bleeding heart
We were perfect, can't he see
She wields a knife in agony
Cuts, and cuts again
Her bleeding wrists to match her heart
He's unfeeling, she's in pain
She writes me one last letter
Her blood, it stains the page
She says to say she loved him
And that I shouldn't turn to hate
She says she knows I'll miss her
And I will, every minute of every day
Life is not worth living
If my best friend's gone away
I give this bitter testimony
In pain, in love, in grief
She was my North, she was my South
She was my everything
She was my noon, my midnight,
She was my talk, my song;
She thought that love would last forever
It's his fault that she was wrong.
