THE SEA - THE BEAST...
I could hear the sound of the sea
The men on their white steeds winked at me
Mermaids laughed in the deep, dark depths
Souls of sailors mourning wept
Harsh gull cries with the sea are blending
Waves on the rocks are crashing, rending
The sting of the salt spray on my face
Sparkling in the sun like transparent lace
And as I sit here on my rocky peak
My only companion the wind, and think
I wish never to be parted from this beast
For on the bones of men it feasts
And yet here I am and here I shall die
Forever happy
