In the evolution of consciousness one sees how the scientists and the Christian mystics are both correct in their statements about evolution. They differ only in the way they talk about the different stages. Science and the church have been opponents in trying to popularize their different hypothesis with each faction thinking that his or her small contribution is the whole. The theory of consciousness endeavors to incorporate each faction's thoughts into a more complete synthesis where they are both correct.
