Pubs and Restaurants
Pubs:
Here is a list of all (or most) of the pubs inTower Hill. All listed are within walking distance.
My Three Personal Favorites Are:
*
Dicken's Inn (at St Katherine's Docks - go here for the atmosphere and the view, not the food!)
*
Liberty Bounds (a Wetherspoons pub. Cheap & good lunch deals! Plus its next door)
*
The Hung, Drawn and Quartered (Child-free. Just across Great Tower Street.)
Two pubs not on the above list are an All Bar One (A chain, but very good food. Located in next door building) and Wagamama (Also a chain. Japanese - mosty soup. Cheap and good. Opens soon. Just across Great Tower Street).
The Liberty Bounds (Wetherspoons) pub,
on the other side of the building from the flat.
Sit by the window for a great view of the Tower of London, the Thames River, and Trinity Square Gardens.
If you come down to the Marina, be sure to bring some bread to feed the ducks!
There is also
Mala Indian Restaurant and many others to choose from at St Katherine's Docks.
Restaurants:
My Two Personal Favorites Are:
*
Thai Square (an international chain and about a lazy 10 minute walk, but well worth it.)
*
Mala Indian Restaurant (usually quiet and secluded)
Dickens Inn (4 restaurants in old, beautiful building) is on the site where pirates would be hung (mmm, that makes you hungry...)

Here is a List of Several Other Good Restaurants in the Local Area:
*
Planter's Inn Indian Restaurant (Just across Great Tower Street from the flat. Next to Hung, Drawn, and Quartered Pub. Quiet and good service.)
*
Foxtrot Oscar's (next door to the flat)
*
Chez Gerard (French cuisine - next door to the flat)
*
Fenchurch Colony Wine Bar (upscale)
*
Mangiare (at the Minories - Italian food) (opens only for lunch - brisk 10 min walk - very cheap!)
*
Rosemary Lane - gourmet and upscale.
*
Leadenhall Wine and Tapas Bar - Tapas are a fun alternative to a formal dinner. While you're there, take the time to explore Leadenhall Market.
*
The Medieval Banquet - A full-costume medieval banquet with knights and serving wenches.
*
Auberge on Mark Lane
*
Balls Brothers - After you stop laughing at the name, go here for some pretty good food and to people watch at the good ole boy bankers (you are in the heart of the financial district!).

The above is just a short list - you will find many more just walking around.
Don't worry about printing out all of this information - it will all be waiting for you when you arrive at the flat in your 'Guest Handbook'.
