Ensemble Flauto Dolce | |||||||||||||||
Ensemble Flauto Dolce was founded in 2000 in Cluj, Romania, in the idea of making Recorder and it's repertoire as well-known as possible in Romania, expecially in the Transylvanian Basin. Here Recorder is well known round children and folk music, but there are rarely made known it's technical and expressive abilities. This is the main goal of this ensemble: to present early- and modern works of different Recorder-settings. This means works from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rokoko and music from the contemporary time. We are very much interested in playing contemporary composer's works. On the other hand we are also trying to reveal early Transylvanian music from different old manuscripts and to present them to the public. From time to time we are collaborating with other artists, expecially singers, like the sopranos Ana-Maria Covrig and Theodora Gheorghiu. MEMBERS Zoltán Majó finished the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy in Cluj, specializing in flute, but his interest turned toward Early Music and Recorder. in this field he attended masterclasses in Sopron (Hungary) and Thun (Switzerland). He is a Recorder-teacher at the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy, at the "Babes-Bolyai" University and the "Sigismund Toduta" Music School in Cluj. He is founder of several early- amd baroque ensembles over the years, at the present he is also member of the Baroque Ensemble Transylvania. Mária Szabó and Orsolya Csillag are students at the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy in Cluj, specializing as Music Teacher, but meeting Zoltán Majó, their main field of interest become Recorder and Early Music.
