TGPM Grows Rapidly
In the five years since the start of this Triple Gem Society humanitarian prison project in the United States, Triple Gem Prison Ministries(TGPM) has grown from Mahanoy prison to include Buddhist services at Somerset, Huntingdon, Camp Hill and Houtzdale state prisons in Pennsylvania. This humanitarian project seriously needs volunteers willing to sponsor prison meditation groups at Somerset, Huntingdon and Houtzdale. TGPM has continued to grow as Buddhist spiritual advisors to inmates at Adams County Adult Correction Complex; and was invited to begin Buddhist service for INS detainees at York and Berks County prisons as well as beginning Buddhist services in various prisons in New jersey as well. TGPM makes personal visits, Embassy and family contacts, provides support letters, a residency program, work plans and coordination for legal assistance to inmates without the benefits of a paid attorney. Most INS detainees are Buddhists from Southeast Asia and
TGPM provides books and literature in Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Cambodian languages.

Joining with Prison Dharma Network and the Buddhist Inmate Sangha, TGPM started a prison correspondence program in 2001. Since the start of this correspondence program, TGPM had corresponded with more than 230 inmates. Correspondence provides Buddhist instructions, lessons, counseling, study guides as well as other literature and books to any inmate who writes to TGPM.

Prison pen-pals are always needed; we invite anyone interested to join TGPM prison correspondence program. Instructions and support will be provided to anyone interested in sharing the Buddhadhamma through correspondence (email
bodhihouse@yahoo.com for more details).
