Tuesday, 12/8/03 - SPONSORSHIP RESHUFFLE!
ANGER MANAGEMENT have dropped sponsors, the TEA TREE GULLY HOTEL
in favour of rival pub, the FOX & FIRKIN.
The deal will see new uniforms being sported in the field as of the beginning of next season with a change of colour from the famous fighting green to a new sombre black, sure to strike indifference into the heart of opposing team members. This week's final will be the last time the lads from the MANAGEMENT go the green so make sure you are there to witness a piece of sporting history!
Wednesday, 13/8/03 - GRAND FINAL UPSET!
The MANAGEMENT walked away from tonight's Div 5 Grand Final with a shock
1 run loss after a match filled with controversial decisions (when they were against us) and
close but fair calls (when they were for us).
The game against the REGGIES was looking grim for the MANANGEMENT after they were kept
to 91 from their alloted 16 overs but the combination of tight fielding and  inventive bowling saw
the first 2 batting pairs floundering on 20 from 8 overs.
The REGGIES batted their way back into the game in the 2nd 8 overs however and the match finally came down to 3 runs required with 1 over to go. The REGGIES notched up a 1 run lead with 3 balls remaining, survived a dubious NOT OUT decision on the 2nd to last ball and blocked safely on the final ball of the match to see them take home the big mugs while the tenacious lads from ANGER MANAGEMENT had to be satisfied with the little mugs.
An official complaint was lodged with Harvey, the ICA manager, about the umpiring standard
but he pretty much just laughed about it.
Congratulations go out to the REGGIES for their win which was well earned.
ANGER MANAGEMENT will go into the pre-season with the bitterness of so slim a defeat lodged firmly in their minds and the mission of rebuilding ahead of them.
They have until 6pm next week to get it right.
Wednesday, 20/8/03 - Game 1 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 78 defeated HOOTERS 24.
Solid fielding and tight bowling saw the HOOTERS kept to 42 from 15 overs before
Mark's final over haul of 5 wickets removed a further 18 runs and set up an easy run chase.
Fletch & Drew managed 13, Bob & Danny offered up a pitiful -2 and Grant & Luke kept the
fielders busy with their hard hitting 7.
Still requiring 7 to win, Mark & Trent casually smacked up a 60 to remind the rest of the team
what the hell we are supposed to be doing out there!
The post match pizzas were good but Harvey ripped us off... we got 3 instead of the usual 4.
Not good enough!
The new black uniforms performed well, hiding grease and coke stains much better
than the old fighting green.
Next weeks match, another grading game, is at 5:50pm.
Wednesday, 27/8/03 - Game 2 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 64 defeated by I.C.E. 78.
"Disappointing" sums up the game from the MANAGEMENT perspective.
The game started well with a first ball wicket to Fletch but despite another tight bowling and
fielding display, the I.C.E. opening pair of Chris & James still managed to come out with a sound 29.
(Largely due to Zola getting BELTED for 14 off of one over! Poor!)
Bob took 3 wickets in the fifth over but again the batters got it together to finish on 24.
The 3rd & 4th pair were kept to 14 & 11 respectively in spite of the 14th over
when Danny was BELTED for 14. Poor!
Bob ended on 5 for -3 and
Once again, it all came down to whether or not the MANAGEMENT could perform with the bat.
With an opening partnership of 40 by Fletch & Zola, the answer seemed to be yes.
After Bob & Danny's first over total of 16, the beer was prepared.
After they walked out with a score of 11, the beer was put back in the fridge.
When Luke & Drew managed only -4, the beer was forgotten.
Mark & Grant had to score 32 in their 4 overs to save the team,
just as Mark & Trent had done the previous week with their 40 run final 4.
They scored well in the 14th over and required only 10 runs from the remaining 2 overs
but got out 5 times, including Grant being bowled and then stumped in the last 3 deliveries,
pushing the target out of reach to even a miracle jackpot 7...
which never came either.
Their 17 run partnership was fair under the circumstances.
I.C.E.'s Ashley was their best bowler with 5 for -8, including the match deciding final over.
He's probably a ring in.
Just kidding! :o)
Next weeks match is still unknown at time of publishing.
Probably 9:55pm or some crap!
Wednesday, 3/9/03 - Game 3 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT FORFEIT!
From disappointing to debacle!
Last night's game at the Modbury ICA was forfeitted by ANGER MANAGEMENT
on account of the lack of professionalism from certain squad members.
The 9:15 game apparently clashed with the social calendars of a good many of the team,
resulting in the last minute withdrawal from the evening's competition.
Long travelling times, the boxing and social commitments were offerred up as excuses
but really, what hope is there for this team with that sort of attitude?
Next week sees ANGER MANGEMENT playing to prove their credibility as a
DIVISION 5 finals hopeful but with just 1 win from the previous 3 matches,
serious questions are being asked in the bar and in the carpark...
questions which require some serious consideration by this once great team.
Poor!
Wednesday, 10/9/03 - Game 4 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 31 defeated by REDNECKS 69

Poor.
Wednesday, 17/9/03 - Game 5 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 88 defeated by 8.0.1.'s 108
Questions are being asked at the top level of the ANGER MANAGEMENT club after yet another
disappointing batting total saw them throw away the match before the final pair even made their
way to the crease. How is it possible for the team with the most economical bowling figures in the division to continue to languish near the arse end of the table?
Is it that only 2 of the first 6 batters made it into double figures?
Is it that of the total of 16 wickets, 11 came from the middle order?
Is it the amount of illicit substances that are being ingested prior to the game?
Should there be more?
Or is it, to quote Bobsy, simply the fact that...
"We're shit"?
Whatever it is, next week's late match doesn't bode well for the MANAGEMENT boys as it
usually means being short staffed and drunker than usual when they take the field.
It could be a looooong season, MANAGEMENT fans!
Poor.
Wednesday, 24/9/03 - Game 6 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 121 defeated BEAVERS 107
In a surprise turn around in form, ANGER MANAGEMENT notched up their first win in
weeks against the highly favoured BEAVERS, a team from Divison 2 no less.
As was predicted, the late start time of 9:45pm resulted in a player shortage with
the withdrawal of Drew, Luke & Mark from the lineup.
BEN TANZA's late inclusion filled a part of the void but still couldn't prevent the ANGER
from taking to the field one player short as they were sent in to bat first.
Although the batting woes continued for a couple of the MANAGEMENT batters,
the opening combination of Zola & Fletch put in another good performance with 37 which was then followed by a game high partnership of 43 between Bob & Danny.
Ben partnered with team captain, Grant, to knock up a respectable 19 as the 3rd pair
and then was asked by the BEAVERS to bat again with Trent for the final 4 overs.
Trent, once more, seemed to struggle with his new spiffy bat but was ably supported by Tanza
who must have had his eye in by now because he went on a strike rate rampage,
contributing 20 runs in the first 2 overs faced while Trent was caught 4 times.
Ben's only failure was being caught out twice in the last over including the jackpot ball.
None the less, the ANGER were looking at their first defendable total in yonks with 121.
The BEAVERS started strongly with Paul & Aaron cracking Tanza for 28 in the 2nd over
on their way to their opening partnership of 40, followed by Tim & Simon with 38.
Could it happen? Could the one poor bowling game of the season come at the worst possible time?
The hell it could.
Fletch bowled his 2nd over of the game to the third pair of Mark & Steve for -2,
Ben allowed only 3, Danny just 4 and Zola bowled well to allow just 5 which saw the pair leave
the field on 10, throwing the pressure back onto the BEAVER boys who now required
33 runs from the final 4 overs. Ben & Phil faced the arduous task but at least had the opportunity
to choose 2 of the ANGER bowlers to face again in the final 2 overs.
Having only managed 3 runs against Grant and Trent's final bowling stint, Bob and Ben were
picked for the remaining overs; a choice the BEAVERS went on to regret.
Bob was on fire, picking up 3 wickets for only 8 runs and leaving the batsmen facing
a massive chase with 44 runs to score in the final over.
Although they did a fair job, belting Tanza for 28 once again, it was never going to happen for them.
ANGER MANAGEMENT won by 14; their first win since
they flogged the HOOTERS 5 weeks earlier.
Hopefully, the next win wont take another 5 weeks!
Wednesday, 1/10/03 - Game 7 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 124 defeated BACKYARDERS 97
Hooly dooly! They won again!
Obviously the trick is to play against teams from higher divisions because last night
ANGER MANAGEMENT took on the second to top place holders from Division 2
and beat them with style and confidence.
It's a surprise turnaround in form and one that has the lads fired up and eager to start the
long and arduous task of climbing the ladder towards another finals series.
All played well.
Wednesday, 8/10/03 - Game 8 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 149 defeated NEXT WEEK 93
Three in a row and the punters are HOT for more!
A big win against traditional rivals, NEXT WEEK, sees the lads climbing toward the top
of the division 2 ladder at the business end of the season and leaving the poor form of the early
games somewhere on the edge of memory like an embarrassing moment from a drunken binge!
NEXT WEEK started the batting well with consecutive 40's to leave them on 85 from 8 overs
but the MANAGEMENT found their fielding form in the 2nd 8 overs, restricting the score to 93.
Best ANGER bowlers were Fletch with 5 wickets for -10 runs &
Trent with 2 for -2 although Grant deserves a mention for improving bowling stats from
1 for 24 in the his 1st over to 2 for -7 in his 2nd trip to the bowler's crease.
He was also instrumental (he reckons) in undermining NEXT WEEK's confidence with his
memorable backhanded flick to convert a 7 to a runout.
97 is a challenging score for the MANAGEMENT, as recent batting collapses display,
but from the start the target was attacked with real intent.
Zola & Fletch started it off with a sensible 45, an inning which saw only 1 wicket fall when Zola
was comprehensively bowled by Peter from NEXT WEEK.
Bob & Danny continued the winning form with 43, leaving the last 2 batting pairs with
a mere 6 runs to chase, which they did with style. Grant & Drew scored a respectable 32
and Mark & Trent teamed up against the hapless bowling attack to the tune of 29 runs.
The only let down was failing to secure the extra batting point by 1 run.
ANGER MANAGEMENT should head into next week's game fom either 1st or 2nd position
on the Wednesday Night Division 2 ladder...
an enviable place to be!
Wednesday, 15/10/03 - Game 9 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 162 defeated CELLBLOCK 8  96
The record has been broken.
Last night, ANGER MANAGEMENT posted their 4th win in a row against an
understrength CELLBLOCK 8 in a game that never looked like going any other way.
A recurring back injury has removed opening batsman, Zola, from the team for the
forseeable future so Fletch teamed up with Drew to put together an opening stand of 25.
Bob & Danny continued their good form with a massive 61, thanks largely to Bob's jackpot 7.
Grant & Luke managed only 23 against the battered bowling attack due to the loss of 6 wickets;
a trend which needs to be addressed by the captain who has been the main culprit of late.
Final pair and crowd favourites, Mark & Trent, took to the attack like Danny to a vegetarian pizza,
tearing it apart with barely a pause for breath.
Their 53 runs brought up the team's 150 and the bonus batting point was in the bag!
Feilding was now reduced to a training session and the mood on the court was lighthearted;
obviously something that needs to be avoided against a stronger opponent.
It's a good thing the pressure wasn't on however because the backcourt fielders put on a display
reminiscent of stoned street acrobats on their first day of busking... during an earthquake.
Catches were dropped, runouts fumbled and backing up... well, where the hell was the backing up?
At the end of the day it didn't really matter because even a poor day in the field by the
highly skilled ANGER MANAGEMENT crew is a good one by mortal standards.
(HA!)
So, after a solid bowling performance by all, especially Grant with 4 for 0,
including a jackpot wicket, Danny with 2 for 6 and Fletch with 2 for 8,
the game ended as a resounding victory for the MANAGEMENT lads.
The only concern now is will the opportunity to win 5 games in a row even happen with
injury and sook factors taking their toll for next weeks late game against MODERN LIZARDS?
5 players have confirmed their availability for next Wednesday's game which leaves
the ANGER with a 3 player shortage and at the most unpopular time to find subs.
Stay tuned and we will keep you posted on developments!
Wednesday, 22/10/03 - Game 10 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 153 defeated MODERN LIZARDS  44
The record has been shattered.
5 wins in a row and with the Hooters to come next week, who knows what could happen.
They have always been good opponents but the ANGER had the wood on them
in the earlier encounter this season, winning by over 50 runs.

(more to come on this game)
Wednesday, 29/10/03 - Game 11 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 97ish defeated by HOOTERS  120
The record straight wins shall remain at 5 because, last night, ANGER MANAGEMENT
fell at the final hurdle against the always dangerous, HOOTERS in a nail biter.
With Grant coaching from the sidelines for this game, the fielding started well for the ANGER,
but as the HOOTERS innings wore on, elementary mistakes were made all over the ground.
Zola in particular was woeful. Mark wasn't much better. You don't drop dolly catches like
those at THIS level of elite amateur sport, fellas!
Sensing blood, the HOOTERS backed themselves in some quick running between the wickets
and came out on top in most instances due to clumsy hands and shotgun throwing,
eventually reaching the reasonable total of 120.
Zola's poor form continued into his batting inning as he and Fletch bumbled their way to 17
or something... can't find the scoresheet... anyway, yeah, they were poor.
Bob and Danny have been consistent performers over the last few weeks and again
had the goods with a better than needed 36 ... I think... before unlikely heroes,
Drew and Luke strode out and banged up a match saving 41... or something... with
the flair of a well seasoned partnership. Good stuff!
All that was now required was 19 runs from the last 4 overs with our best batting
pair going in to do the job! 6 matches in a row! In the bag!
As it turned out...
poor.
Still! A good night was had by all.
Ahem.
Wednesday, 5/11/03 - Game 12 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 91 defeated by NEXT WEEK  114
Nobody fired for this rather lacklustre game against friendly rivals, NEXT WEEK.
The batting was low to average accross the board with openers, Fletch and Zola making 26,
Bob and Danny 19, Grant and Drew 21 and hometown heroes, Trent and Mark 25.
We have often seen ANGER MANAGEMENT defend double figure totals but not this time.
The bowling and fielding were good all round but NEXT WEEK did their job well enough,
especially their middle order partnerships; Pete and David with 38 and game high scorers,
Rusty and Paul with 40, leaving the final batting pair with 1 run required from 4 overs.
Not the most inspirational game from the MANAGEMENT lads and surely a game
worth learning from should our paths cross again on the march toward the Premiership mugs!
Wednesday, 19/11/03 - Game 14 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 111 defeated FIRKINS  -1
In this, the first ever Fox & Firkin Derby, the higher division FIRKINS clashed with underdogs
ANGER MANAGEMENT in the fight for the remaining GRAND FINAL BERTH!
That's right. The elimination final for the coveted Division 4 Premiership Mug was out of
the 2 Fox & Firkin hotel sponsored teams.
The Fox & Firkin on North East Road, located in the scenic foothills of Tea Tree Gully,
serving the finest ales in a charming olde world atmosphere, as well as mouth watering meals
in the lavishly appointed upstairs dining room. Drop in today and tell them that
THE MANAGEMENT sent you.
Anyway...
Due to the late arrival of Bob from an emergency tree removal
(I don't know where he had it removed from),
the MANAGEMENT were sent in to bat and managed a reasonable enough score of 111.
Highlight of the innings was undoubtedly the first 2 overs of final pair, Mark and Trent.
We've often seen these lads knock up quick runs but the display was more akin to warfare
than to a display of sporting prowess!
48 in the first 2 overs including four 7's in a row in the 14th over.
An absolute flogging.
The lowpoint of the innings was that their second 2 overs saw them manage -1
largely due to the loss of 6 wickets.
Still, 47 was the game high total and is a bloody good score in anyone's book.
The big story was in the fielding and bowling display that followed.
Every bowler but Fletcher took wickets including the two valuable fill-ins,Tanza and Ashley.
Ashley, borrowed from I.C.E., narrowly missed out on a hattrick in his first over after 2 catches.
The hattrick ball was wide but he struck again with his next ball.
The FIRKINS inning was falling apart after a succession of single figure totals; 6, 2 and 4.
The final pair were forced to hit out and predictably lost as many runs as they could score,
finishing with -13 after a jackpot ball catch by a squatting backcourt Trent.
So, for the first time ever, ANGER MANAGEMENT have kept a team
in the negatives with the final score of -12!
What a great preparation for the coming GRAND FINAL against NEXT WEEK!
See you THERE, sports fans!
Wednesday, 12/11/03 - Game 13 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 114 defeated by AN YA DOG  157
Power hitting AN YA DOG have always set difficult targets and this game was no exception.
When coupled with being short a player and our well known dislike for late games,
we were looking at this game as a training session for the final games ahead.
After keeping the DOGS to under 50 from their first 8 overs, things spiralled away.
The third partnership of Greg and Rob smashed a confident 57,
Zola being the only bowler to trouble them along the way with 3 scalps in his over.
A second half century from final pair, Ivan and Tim set the unlikely target of 157.
Surprisingly, the run chase went very well, with 35 from Fletch and Zola,
followed by a solid 25 from Grant and Luke.
Trent and Mark hammered another half century partnership to put the total within 50 runs.
Here, the chase ran out of steam. Danny and chosen repeat batter, Luke only managed
to get the score as high as 124 before Danny was caught on the final ball attempting
to lose by less than was inevitable. He failed. Final partnership... a duck.
Still, all things considered, a fair game that finished around midnight.
Wednesday, 26/11/03 - Game 15 Spring 2003
ANGER MANAGEMENT 119 defeated BEAVERS  41
Well, you can imagine the confusion that greeted ANGER MANAGEMENT players and
fans alike last night when they arrived at the Grand Final match only to be told that
the game was now a preliminary final against the BEAVERS.
The MANAGEMENT had been told last week that they were in the Grand Final
against long time rivals, NEXT WEEK, whom they had lost to in previous weeks
but now the NEXT WEEK match will be played next week instead of this week...
IF the MANAGEMENT win this week.
So the lads went out against the BEAVERS feeling out of sorts but determined.
Bating first, Fletch & Zola strated well with 30, followed by a game high 44 by Bob & Danny.
Grant & Luke struggled their way to 14 before Mark & Trent finished nicely with 31 to
bring the ANGER MANAGEMENT total score to 119.
The BEAVERS never looked up to the challenge, with partnerships ranging between 5 & 18.
The MANAGEMENT took 21 wickets from the BEAVERS innings,
keeping them to the paltry total of 41.
Hopefully, this will be enough to earn a place in the Grand Final next week against NEXT WEEK.
Unless Harvey thinks of any NEW challenges for us!
GRAND FINAL
Wednesday, 3/12/03 - Game 16 Spring 2003

ANGER MANAGEMENT 62 defeated NEXT WEEK  41
Special!
In a game of defensive tactics and tight bowling, NEXT WEEK faced off against our own
ANGER MANAGEMENT lads in the clash for the Division 4 premiership last night.
Mark, out through injury, was replaced by recent inclusion, Ben Tanza
who has been in good form since joining late in the season.
BEAVERS won the toss and sent the MANAGEMENT in to set the target.
Fletch & Zola opened with a scrappy but effective 24 before the batting tragedy
that is Danny & Bob strode to the crease.
From a game high last week of 44 to a dismal -17 in one inning and what a time to get it.
Fortunately, Grant & Luke overcame their recent wobbles to post a respectable 34
before Trent & Tanza knocked up a further score in the 30's
to finish the innings on a dodgy looking 62 runs.
NEXT WEEK were sounding confident, as were their cheer squad in the bar above.
Fletch struck a vital blow with his first delivery, bowling the NEXT WEEK opener with
a perfectly pitched ball that struck middle and leg.
The wicket was the first of many as the ANGER MANAGEMENT bowlers kept the
opposition in trouble throughout their innings with accuracy and variation.
Especially variation.
The match was won in the final over when the NEXT WEEK batters were unable to
find the net with any confidence and the ANGER fielders, on top of their game,
continually frustrated their attempts to sneak quick runs in.
The final ball was safely fielded by Zola and ANGER MANAGEMENT,
with that brilliant mix of age and experience,
came home once more with the "big mugs" as their reward for months of dedication.
The ANGER MANAGEMENT team would like to thank their sponsor,
The Fox & Firkin Hotel, all the fans that make the long weekly trek to support them and
all the part time fill-ins that have filled the holes throughout the season.
We'll see you next season!
Wednesday, 25/2/04 -  Pre-Game 8 Summer 2003-4
Oops! Well...
I must apologise for giving this page scant attention of late BUT...
I took holidays AND the weather has been an absolute shocker AND my computer room has
NO AIR CONDITIONING
AAAAAND.... the ICA photo copier was
the victim of industrial sabotage resulting in the scoresheets being unavailable.
Sorry to our MASSIVE supporter base for the lack of updates.
I'd apologise in person but I don't know both your phone numbers.
Soooo...
The important thing is that the MANAGEMENT have been on a winning streak of late,
putting them at either 1'st or 2'nd on the ladder of whatever division we are in.
Tonight we play CELLBLOCK 8 at 8:35pm so get on down and support the lads you
hate to love as they continue on their unrelenting quest for amateur sporting glory and beer.
