Frank Betlach, Jr.

December 12, 1905-July 29, 2000

 

Bowling Green.. Frank Betlach, Jr. 94, of Bowling Green

and formerly of St.Louis, died July 29, 2000 at Country

View Nursing Home in Bowling Green.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at

St. Clement Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Waickman

will officiate.

 

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2

at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in St. Louis.

 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Mudd-

Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green and from 10.a.m.

to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Krieghauser Funeral Home

South in St. Louis.

 

Mr. Betlach was born Dec. 12, 1905, in St. Louis to Mr.

and Mrs. Frank Rudolph Betlach.

 

Survivors include nieces and nephews; his caretaker and

husband, Diane and Ralph Miller of Frankford; his guardian

Leone Cadwallader of Louisiana; and numerous godchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

 

Mr. Betlach was an optician, who had lived and worked in

South St. Louis at the Barnes Hospital eye clinic.

 

He was a member of Holy Innocence Catholic Church in St.

Louis and attended St. Clement Catholic Church in St. Clement.

He had been active in the St. Vincent Society, Legion of Mary

and Holy Name Society.

 

Mr. Betlach moved to Pike County in 1995. He lived in the St.

Clement Retirement Village before moving to Maple Grove

Nursing Home in Louisiana and later Country View Nursing

Facility in Bowling Green.

 

The family requesed the following information be included: Mr.

Betlach was known as the candy man to the children of St.

Clement Catholic Church. He was a very generous man who

donated to various charities and causes. Memorials may be made

to the charity of the donor’s choice.
