Flash came to me as a spunky outgoing 9 week old puppy. I picked him up at the airport and he greeted me like he had been waiting all of his 9 weeks just to meet me.
My plans for him were to show him in the breed ring and also compete in agility. Well it didn't take very long to see how much he loathed the breed ring and didn't want any part of it. So our plans have been changed and we will now be doing performance sports and some hobby herding. He loves agility and even more so LOVES herding. Flash and my other border collies interest in herding prompted my husband and I to move to a house in the country where we could have some sheep. I think Flash and Chase are in border collie heaven now and when they're not outside with their sheep they're always looking out the window making sure they are still there and all is well.
Flash just might be the smartest dog I have, picking up new tricks in just a few repetitions. He has a great work ethic, loves to learn new things and we have a fun time training together. He is very fast on the agility course and has made it necessary for me to learn some new handling skills in order to keep up with him. He is very playful, always looking for someone to throw a toy for him. He is my constant shadow around the house, never more than a few feet from me. Flash is a great and loyal companion.
