Mac was my unplanned puppy, and sometimes the best things come about just that way, unexpected.  I had been keeping tabs by way of the Internet on a litter born from the breeder I got Blitz from.  I loved the pedigree, with the dam being Blitz's litter sister Sheena and the sire a gorgeous tri colored, successful sheep trial dog that had just been imported from England.  And when the pups were born, the adorable tri male that so much resembled his daddy, immediately caught my eye but it just was not to be as I was not ready for another dog at the time, my current ones were keeping me more than busy.  Besides, 5 dogs? Well that would just be crazy! So all I did was look at the pictures on the internet, and wish this was 3 years down the road.  Well then as fate would have it I received an email that the male tri pup was available and looking for a good performance home, did I know anybody that might be interested?  Well yes I did....... me.  I had a long talk with the husband, who thankfully finds it hard to say no to me, and the rest is history.  Mac was the most adorable bc puppy ever, and I couldn't be in the same room with him without picking him up to hug, kiss and cuddle with him.  Mac wasn't too sure about all this, he was a dog he knew and had really taken to my pack of 4 other dogs in the house when he arrived at his new home, thinking that it was with them that he belonged.  Well my husband and I slowly won him over and he discovered we were much more fun than the dog pack, and he even learned to be a big cuddle bear also.  Now I can't get away from the Mac!  Mac has a fun loving, happy and outgoing temperament.  Addicted to tennis balls, preferably the ones that squeak.  Also such a waterdog I think sometimes between that and the fact that his tail never stops waggin, he is part Golden Retriever.  And when the tail wags...the whole back end is going and then the papers and stuff go flying off the table.  LOL!
He loves his sheep and I hope to be able to train him this upcoming year in herding.  Agility training is going well, although he is quite a bit different than his Uncle Blitz, and at first I didn't know what to think.  I just assumed they would be very similar so I was a bit shocked that Mac didn't take to agility 100mph like Blitz had.  He is more sensitive not wanting to be wrong and is much more of a thoughtful jumper.  Given that he runs after balls and frisbees like a speed demon and races around with the other dogs leaving them in the dust, I wondered where was his speed and enthusiasim for agility?  It was certainly there for anything else he does.  And nobody can get to a tennis ball faster, the other boys in the house don't have a chance if Mac is going for it.  And they know it too, if they see him going for it they just turn back around in defeat.  So what is happening is that Mac is just slowly piecing together this agility thing and as it is coming together for him he is gaining the speed and enthusiasim for agility training that I knew was in him.  I have to admit that I'm really enjoying the fact that he is a really nice natural jumper, I'm hoping to avoid the novice years of bars going flying around the ring.  Hmmmmm  Blitz?
Have you ever seen anything cuter than this guy?
