Tonight was the first Friday evening of the school year and Jay and Trisha had already set aside the night to celebrate over dinner at their favorite restaurant, California Dreaming, and to cap off the evening with a funny movie and a late night chat. After class, Jay quickly showered and changed into a pair of blue dress slacks, a new white Polo shirt and a pair of dark brown Italian loafers. He was on top of the world as he left and began to drive toward Trisha's place, and tonight was his first date with her where they actually lived in the same town - it was very exciting. He wondered what Trisha might choose to wear - not that he'd ever seen her dressed anything but nice in the 4 years he'd known her.
Over in Irmo, Trisha was hurriedly getting ready for their big date. She had purchased a new dress for the night - a black print halter dress. She put on her jewelry, ending with Jay's ankle bracelet and finished working on her hair, which she pulled into a stylish pony tail adorned with a barrette she had bought to match the dress. Lastly, she opened her closet and began to look for a pair of shoes to accent her new dress. As she looked through her suddenly well-organized shoe caddies, she began to rule out some contenders, 'Too casual...too dressy...heel not high enough...can't find but one...rubs a blister if I wear it to long....' Finally she noticed a shoebox that contained a pair of shoes she had purchased from Bruce the last time she had been home. She quickly opened the lid and pushed away the paper wrap and pulled out one of the shoes, a black Sergio Rossi mule with a silver buckle, a medium spike heel and a pointed toe. They were a perfect match for her new dress and she knew that Jay would love them. She slipped them on and noticed that she could see just a hint of toe cleavage - another thing she knew that caught his eye.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door and through the peephole, she confirmed the distorted image of her man looking anxiously on the other side. Trisha opened the door and leaned down and rolled her right hand down and back behind her as a gesture to ask Jay to come inside. Jay walked into the condo and turned back to face Trisha and gave her a quick north to south scan - mostly south - and reached out to clutch her hands in his. He leaned forward and gave her a kiss then backed up again and commented, "Wow you look incredible tonight. "Is that a new dress?"
"Thanks and as a matter of fact it is - Joanna and I went shopping after work on Wednesday. And your look rather dapper yourself."
"And those shoes, I don't believe I've seen you wear those. The buckle looks rather 'unique'."
Knowing it would drive Jay crazy, she leaned back a little and lifted her right foot behind her and slipped off one shoe with her right hand. As she raised her shoe to waist-level, she posed her bare foot with her toes flexed and she gave Jay a closer look.
While enjoying the view of her perfectly manicured toes and a close-up of her pretty and stylish new mule he jokingly commented on the label on the inside sole, "Sergio Rossi, sounds like the name of a restaurant's table wine." Trisha lightly tapped the toe of her shoe on Jay's noggin and replied, "You silly goose! He's a very good shoe designer."
Jay did not mind the gentle reprimand. In fact it gave him the opportunity to get a whiff of the scent of freshly crushed leather as her shoe went by his nose. Trisha dropped her shoe from waist level to the carpet and, without looking, guided her toes back inside. She grabbed Jay's hand and asked, "You ready to go?"
Certainly he was and he just smiled and led Trisha to his Integra, opened the passenger-side door and watched as Trisha maneuvered into her seat before quickly walking around to get inside himself then drive off toward the restaurant. Jay and Trisha chatted merrily about their days - Jay's day of classes at the South Carolina Law school and Trisha's day at her job as a database encryption analyst for Wachovia Bank. Jay enjoyed the sight of Trisha slipping her toes in and out of one of her mules, then taking one foot completely out of a shoe and teasingly rubbing her toes on the carpet in plain view.
"So, have you thought about what movie you want to go and see tonight?" Jay tried to stay focused on driving and carrying on the conversation. It helped when Trisha finally put her toes back in the fallen mule.
"I've been seeing a lot of good things about Uptown Girls, that Brittany Murphy is going to be a big star."
"Yeah, I saw her in that movie with Ashton Kutcher where they were newlyweds."
Minutes later, they arrived at California Dreaming and saw that parking was at a premium; all the close spots were taken. Jay was not sure whether it was more gentlemanly to walk her into the building, even though it was a good walk, or drop her off at the door and miss out on watching her slap around in her cute little mules. He decided to ask, "Would you like me to drop you of at the door?"
"Sure, I can put in our name and wait on you." Jay pulled up along side the entrance and Trisha carefully exited the car without losing either of her mules, then slapped her way to trough the front door while Jay watched the scenery of her slapping heels.
Jay was so excited to finally be living in the same town as Trisha and be dating. He noted that his hands were sweaty on the steering wheel and that he had a nervous tinge in his gut. He reached for a Kleenex and dried his hands and the steering wheel the best he could then located an antacid tablet in the console and took it for good measure. He knew he had a good thing going with a great girl that someday would make a terrific wife.
Inside the restaurant, Trisha found a piece of wall to lean against, lifting her left leg and resting her shoe's sole heel flat on the wall, presumably for balance. A few moments later, Jay finally arrived inside and Trisha allowed her shoe to come off her toes a little as she dropped her foot toward the floor. She collected her shoe and stood with Jay until their name was called to be seated.
Jay's heart pounded and his stomach grumbled as he led Trisha by the hand to their table. He continued to be excited over the date. For Trisha it was pretty much the same. After so long being 'just friends' then for a time being in separate towns, it seemed a bit surreal that it took 4 years from the time they met to their first post-college, 'living in the same town' date.
Arriving along side of their booth, the waiter suggested the two of them sit on the same side of the table - in order to see out the large picture window and gaze at the brightly-lit Columbia skyline. Trisha and Jay obliged and took their seat in that order.
For awhile, their date was uneventful. They were interrupted a few times taking drink orders, then food orders, and then receiving the croissant basket. Jay took the initiative to take a croissant and spread some honey butter over the top and hand it to Trisha, before doing the same for him. Trisha crossed her legs at the ankle and began to dangle one shoe off the end of her toes.
While engaged in deep conversation, Trisha began to focus on the Columbia skyline. For a moment, she imagined she was a princess and was in a carriage riding toward a shining city on the hill. She imagined Jay as her prince sitting next to her. She imagined playing a game with Jay and kicking one shoe out into the darkness toward the city and letting her prince do his charming duty.
While engaged in thought, Trisha had allowed her dangling shoe to fall to the floor. Jay heard the all-too-familiar sound and glanced to his side to witness her crossed legs and one black mule sitting mere inches from the edge of her perfectly manicured red toes. Jay teased with the idea of pushing her shoe in one direction or another, just enough to make it out of reach without having to get up our of the booth. He too fantasized about lifting his heel and catching the shoe like a pitching wedge and sending it backwards underneath multiple tables and booths. He contemplated having to walk with Trisha down the aisle and ask several diners to help them locate her shoe.
While engrossed in thought, Jay did indeed relax his foot and back kicked her shoe about 3 feet behind them under the table immediately behind them and unknowingly, into the opened, sideways leaning purse of Ramona, the lady sitting in the seat seated facing the view of the city with her husband, Tom, on the same side of the table. They were finishing up their luscious dessert - a piece of apple walnut cinnamon pie. Both Jay and Trisha were too engrossed in each other's company for Trisha to realize her shoe had fallen off and for Jay to realize he had kicked her shoe backwards.
Dinner continued and Trisha did not feel concerned that her mule had fallen off. Somewhere over the years she seemed to tempt fate more and more - almost like she had a 'death wish' so to speak that one shoe might disappear - especially with Jay in the vicinity. Meanwhile, Jay glanced down to look at Trisha's bare foot at the end of her crossed leg and he also tried to see the location of her mule again. This time he did not see it, however he merely figured that Trisha had nudged it out of sight with her other foot somehow.
Back at the table immediately behind them, the couple paid their check and hurried away from the booth toward the exit. Just before walking Ramona motioned to Tom that she wanted to stop by the restroom first. He nodded in acknowledgement and stood near the exit close to the lectern where Julie, the hostess, was guarding the list of those waiting for a table. She placed much of her weight on her arms which lay flat on the lectern and she playfully dipped in and out of one high heeled pump. Soon, Ramona returned never having checked the contents of her purse. Shortly, they were seated for the 7:45 showing of Uptown Girls at the Cinema 8 in Theater 6 with the hot tickets Tom had purchased on Fandango.
Almost as if it were on cue, as the server came to Jay and Trisha's table with their food, Trisha assumed the ready position by uncrossing her leg and fishing under the table for her fallen shoe. After only a little shuffling, Trisha tucked her toes behind the heel of her remaining shoe and looked out toward the Columbia skyline and for a split second wondered if she really did kick her shoe out there. Teasingly Trisha asked, "Did you knock my shoe away?"
Jay unintentionally lied when he told her he didn't. He stood in the aisle then squatted down to the floor to look under the seats of their booth. "I don't see it. But if it got knocked far it could be under another table. And the table behind us has 4 people sitting there."
"I guess we'll just wait until we're ready to leave." Trisha responded while secretly and strangely liking the vulnerability of being without a shoe and not knowing exactly where it was. Jay meanwhile enjoyed her damsel in distress situation.
Jay and Trisha chatted about various things. They talked about making plans to do a lot of fun stuff together. The options seemed endless for the two of them. Under the table, Trisha played with her single shoe with both feet. Sometimes she had the wrong foot in the shoe. Other times she had the shoe upside down on the floor with her toes subconsciously rubbing up and down against the cool metal heel then all along the bottom of the sole.
As dinner went on and both finished their meals, Jay wondered what could have happened to Trisha's shoe. He did not remember kicking it anywhere and Trisha seemed to not have done anything either. Trisha began to feel nervous but at the same time anxious about the possibility of being left with only one shoe for the rest of the night. After paying the bill, Jay went all along their aisle and looked under seats and asked the diners for help looking for Trisha's shoe. It was nowhere to be found. They told the manager to be on the look out for the shoe and Jay gave her Trisha's phone number just in case the shoe was found.
Trisha replaced her one shoe on her foot and walked out of the restaurant one shod. As they were walking they made plans for the rest of the evening.
"We only have about 15 minutes to get to the Cinema 8 by 9PM. If you want to go back and get a new pair of shoes we may have to catch a later movie or maybe go to the one over near Columbiana Mall."
Trisha's former self would have probably taken up Jay on his offer, but knowing what she did about Jay's 'interest' and how inconvenient a change of plans would be and most of all the strange thrill that she associated with the prospect of venturing out without her lost shoe won out in the end. "No Jay, let's just go on as we planned. You can let me out at the door so I won't have to walk as far, though."
Jay could not believe what he was hearing and seeing. This was going to be quite a night. As Jay walked out to the car he looked back a few times to catch a glimpse of Trisha standing a little lop-sided in her one shoe. He picked her up and they drove to the Cinema 8 to catch Uptown Girls as they had planned.
In the theatre, three sorority girls from the University of South Carolina chapter of Chi Omega were also enjoying the show. Amanda was a junior , Ashley was a sophomore and Jessica was a freshman pledge. All were well dressed with smart top/skirt combinations. Ashley added a pair of red kitten-heeled mules, Amanda wore a pair of dressy high heel thong sandals and Jessica wore a pair of black open-toed slides. Shoes were often a big topic around the sorority house. Girls were often borrowing each others shoes and coveting each others shoes because someone else had a style that they didn't have. Some girls had reputations for shoe play or some other shoe-related habit. Ashley loved low-heeled mules because they flipped and flopped on her feet and garner a lot of attention. But she also really loved high-heel thong sandals like Amanda was wearing, but had not yet purchased a pair like them. Jessica was known for being prone to leave her shoes lying around the sorority house. She liked to kick them off whenever possible to be more comfortable. Ashley and Amanda were pranksters at heart and they were looking for an opportunity to pull one over on one of their new freshman pledges. There was no one in the seats immediately in front of them so they were taking advantage of this fact by sitting slouched in their seats with their knees pressed up against the seat backs. As the movie progressed all were dangling their shoes to some extent. Eventually, Jessica dropped her slides to the floor. Amanda, who sat in the middle, leaned to the side to whisper in Ashley's ear, "Take a look - we've got a great chance now to execute the 'infamous' Cinderella prank, are you ready?"
"Yes, I can probably bump the shoe forward a few rows; ought to make her nervous when she tries to put them back on."
Slowly, Amanda dropped her knees and sat with her feet on the floor. She gingerly slipped off her left shoe and pushed it under her seat but immediately behind her still shod foot, then reached over with her toes and snagged Jessica's shoe and slid it to the side toward her co-conspirator. Next she laid her foot on top of her thong sandal but not inside it. Ashley also slid her knees down and slipped off one shoe and took control of Jessica's shoe.
A few rows forward, Tom and Ramona were enjoying the film and Ramona reached into her purse, noted it was sitting on its side, and felt around for a piece of gum. Instead, she pulled out a shoe - Trisha's lost mule from the restaurant. 'That's strange, she thought. How'd that get in there?' She glanced at it quickly but in the dark she could not see what it looked like. She started to show it to her husband but realized he'd not be interested. Instead she decided to just lay the shoe on the floor off to the side and take it to the concession area and report it as lost. She assumed they had a box of something for lost and found items.
There was a particularly tense and loud scene in the movie and Ashley took swift action. She gave the shoe a solid push and it flew under the seat in front of her. It continued two rows until it bumped the shoe that the woman had laid on the floor to take to lost and found. In a similar shot to something you'd see in Pool or Croquet, Trisha's lost shoe from the woman's purse flew forward under the next seat and Jessica's shoe skidded to a stop after a few more inches. Ashley raised her unshod foot up off the floor and rested her knee on the back of the seat again. Ashley and Amanda giggled under their collective breaths as Jessica was going to eventually realize she was missing a shoe. However all the hi-jinx were not over. Mere moments later, Amanda thought to her self, 'Obviously Ashley never heard of the Cinderella double-cross' then sneakily slid her toes over and in one motion was able to snag Ashley's red mule and slide it behind her unknowingly into a near-empty abandoned box of popcorn.
Amanda replaced her foot in her shoe then Ashley dropped her legs down with the intent on doing the same. She felt on the floor where she imagined her shoe landed and there was nothing. Next, she felt around in the vicinity and still no shoe. Feeling a bit worried, she leaned over to whisper to Amanda, "Do you see my other shoe over there? I hope I didn't kick my shoe and Jessica's at the same time."
Feeling like she may get away without taking the blame Amanda replied, "It probably got kicked forward a little. Hey, this actually will make Jessica blame us less if your shoe is lost also."
Ashley was not terribly comforted by Amanda's encouraging words. She continued to fidget in her seat and tried to search the floor with her toes some more - with no success. Jessica continued to sit with her knees pressed up against the back of the seat in front of her.
Trisha and Jay arrived at the Cinema 8 and Trisha took a deep breath as Jay pulled up the car next to the curb. "So, Trisha, you're sure you're okay with this?"
"I'm sure. After you buy the tickets just come looking for me - I'll try to find a bench to sit on or a piece of wall to lean against. We're going to see Uptown Girls, right?"
"If it's not sold out."
On that note, Trisha began to limp along walking on her bare but well-manicured toes on one foot to try to keep close to level as she walked toward the entrance of the theater. She felt a little embarrassed but an even stronger emotion was vulnerability. As she walked along, that vulnerability seemed strangely sensual. There was something about being so vulnerable in one shoe that she sort of liked but Trisha was at a loss to understand why. Jay paused a few seconds to watch his lady stroll toward the entrance of the theater in one shoe. Suddenly the driver of the black pick-up truck behind him tapped the horn to let him know he was holding up the line of traffic.
Soon, Jay was parked and entering the theater himself. as he entered, Trisha looked so cute with her pretty dress and her single black high heel mule. She was sitting on a bench with her legs tucked underneath and her bare foot was wedged in between the bottom of her other foot and its shoe. He came over and grabbed her hand and they walked together toward the usher. "Sorry, Uptown Girls was sold out, had to get Legally Blonde, Red White and Blue."
Well, that would have been my second choice. I've always liked Reese Witherspoon."
"I haven't seen anyone like her in my law school," Jay replied not knowing that very soon he would meet someone not to much unlike Elle Woods except she did a better job of hiding her vintage sorority upbringing. Her name was Erin and she would offer one more challenge to Jay and his relationship with Trisha.
Once past the usher, Trisha rejoiced that she was now walking on carpet, which was a much friendlier surface for her unshod, bare foot.
It was nearly 9PM, and Ramona decided it was time for a drink refill so she picked up her empty cup and the shoe she had found in her purse. It never occurred to her to question how a shoe ended up in her purse nor did it come to her mind to ask the patrons in her area if they had lost a shoe. She walked up the aisle unnoticed with the lost shoe in her purse so as to not draw attention. Once outside she knocked on the door of the office.
"Come in," said the office manager who was in the middle of going over some paperwork with Mark the concessions manager.
Ramona asserted, "Excuse me, is this were I should turn something into lost and found?"
"Yes it is. Whatcha got?"
"I found this ladies’ high heel shoe in Theater 6."
"Okay, we'll be on the lookout. That's a nice, expensive-looking shoe. It's owner is certainly missing this one!" In the background, Mark memorized the details - the black pointed-toed upper, the flower adornment and the RSVP lagel on the sole. He figured that a young attractive young lady was the owner of this magnificent shoe.
Ramona left the office area and went on to get her drink refill before returning to her seat.
As the movie neared the end, Ashley, had succumbed to the fact that she'd just have to wait until the theater emptied and the house lights came one before she'd be able to look for her shoe. Amanda wondered how this was all going to play out and if she'd have to admit her double-cross. Jessica finally tired from having both knees against the seat. She brought one foot underneath her thigh and the other foot found her remaining shoe and began to play with it a little. After a few minutes, she placed the toes all the way inside and realized it was the wrong shoe for her foot. She began to scan the floor with her toes looking for the mate with no success.
Jessica whispered into Amanda's ear, "Do you see my other shoe over there?"
Looking around her feet she whispered back to her, "No, but maybe it got kicked under a seat. We'll look for it afterwards."
Jessica felt a little reassured and proceeded to swap legs and place the correct foot in the remaining shoe and tuck the other foot under her thigh. She went on to play with the shoe a little by angling the shoe about 45 degrees and lifting her foot and tapping the heel against the floor to the point where her toes came put of the upper. She rested her toes on the edge of her sole and rocked the shoe up and down.
Realizing that in a semi-crowded theater they'd have to wait until most everyone exited to look for their shoes, the girls stayed in their seats as many around them began to gather their belongs and leave. There was some hope that one of them would come to where they were sitting and ask if anyone had lost as shoe. None obliged in that way. In fact, two rows behind the girls, a young couple with two elementary school-age kids began to gather their things which included a lot of garbage. Little 6-year-old Tommy, who was always helpful picked up the large bucket of popcorn off the floor and proceeded to pack the trash from him and his brother into it. This included an unfinished soft drink, some candy wrappers and a few napkins. He was praised by his Mom and Dad for helping keep the theater nice and tidy. The red mule that was trapped in the menagerie of trash was light enough to go undetected by the novice trash collector. On the way out the door, Tommy rightly deposited the bucket in the large waste receptacle just outside the door.
After the scene had cleared a little, all three girls spread out looking for the two missing shoes. Jessica and Ashley went looking under the rows in front of them and Amanda intended on finding Ashley's shoe in one of the rows behind them. After a couple minutes of tedious searching - slowed down by having to look under every seat - Jessica found a shoe.
"Hey look at this, it's a Sergio Rossi mule but it does not belong to either of us. Could a third girl in the theater lost a shoe tonight?" Jessica pondered.
Ashley responded, "I guess anything's possible. I hope this is a good sign."
Amanda was getting concerned that Ashley's shoe was not where she figured she kicked it. Soon the ushers came in to clear out the room and it had been long enough time to where Ashley and Jessica had decided that there shoes were simply gone.
Amanda felt strange and guilty that she had caused both of her friends to lose a shoe. She considered trying to purposefully lose one of her shoes so they would all be in the same predicament, but instead she focused on the next plan of action. "Let's take that shoe we found to the lost and found and report your two shoes lost."
Jessica and Ashley agreed and they walked out of the theater and down the hallway to the office. When they arrived, Jessica held out the shoe they found and before any of the girls could speak, the office manager responded, "Another shoe found tonight, huh? Which theater?"
"We were watching Uptown Girls in 6." Jessica replied. "Did you say that another shoe had been lost and found? My friend Ashley and I both lost one during the last show."
"Why yes, here it is," the office manager replied after seeing the shoe's mate on Jessica's foot. He exchanged the shoe that belonged to Jessica with the newly found shoe that ultimately belonged to Trisha. Jessica quickly placed it back on her foot, but not before wiping the bottom of her foot on the carpet to knock off some of the dirt.
Ashley leaned over and stood on her tiptoes and showed the office manager her remaining red mule. "So has anyone turned in a shoe like this?"
"No, not tonight; it's probably only once a month that a shoe is turned in. I'm amazed at three in the same theater in one show. All I can tell you is to call back tomorrow and see if anyone turns it in. Sorry."
Ashley was dejected and failed to place the shoe back on her foot. Jessica saw someone she knew in the parking lot and went out to speak with him leaving Ashley and Amber alone. "That Cinderella prank was a bad idea," Ashley scolded Amanda while pointing her single red mule in her face in the syllables 'Cin' 'rella' and bad'.
Amanda knew that she was more at fault for Ashley losing her shoe than she was willing to admit to her face, but her choice of prank alone could be considered a contribution for blame. "Okay, I'll tell you what I'll do." As she spoke, Amanda slipped out of both her high heel slides and walked away from them. "They're yours!"
Ashley was not expecting the gesture but she readily stepped into them and tested them out. "They're great! I was thinking about buying some like these anyway. You're forgiven."
Jessica came back from visiting with her friend and saw the shoe swap that had occurred. So what's happening here?
"I wanted to be nice and let Ashley borrow my shoes the rest of the night."
"That is nice! Are you going to wear Ashley's remaining shoe?"
Considering that going back to the sorority house one-shod might complete the penance for her prank she agreed. As she walked she exaggerated the one shoe limp and allowed her one shoe to slap vigorously on her foot. Back at the house a little later, Amanda was noticed by Wendy, a sorority sister who was a graduating senior, in the lobby, for being one shod. Amanda winked at her while saying, "I guess Prince charming is playing a prank on me." Wendy understood completely for she had pulled the Cinderella prank on Amanda two hears ago at a restaurant and ended up letting her wear her shoes home.
Back at the theater, Trisha and Jay were enjoying their movie. Trisha found herself using both feet to play with her one shoe. She used her bare foot like a wedge as she stuck it between her other foot and shoe. She also took turns playing with her one shoe with both feet. As the evening went on, Trisha gained confidence being in one shoe. She decided that other's opinions did not matter. So what if she was caught in this vulnerable state.
Eventually, the movie was over and Jay and Trisha exited the theater and walked out into the lobby. As they passed the concession stand, Mark noticed the pretty brunette walking by with one shoe - and her remaining shoe looked like the one that was turned in a while back. He was sure of it. Taking a chance, he sped out of the work area and came up behind Trisha. He tapped her on the shoulder. "Excuse me miss, someone turned in your shoe a while ago."
"Thanks, but I didn't even lose it here. I lost it at the restaurant."
Mark wanted to ask her about why she came to the movie in one shoe and didn't go home for a replacement but he decided that might be inappropriate. "I'm telling you, the shoe was a black mule with a steel tip heel and it had a buckle just like that one."
Jay suggested, "Hey you might as well take a look, you just never know,"
Against her better judgment and feeling strangely disappointed in the prospect of not completing the date one shod, Trisha followed Mark into the office and Jay trailed behind.
Mark asked the manager, "Do you still have that black high-heel from earlier today?"
"Yeah, sure do." He pulled it out from a box under the desk and said while reading the label, "Is your shoe a Sergio Rossi shoe that looks like this?"
Trisha just about fell over from shock when she saw it. "Well, it does look like my shoe. Can I try it on?"
"You sure can Cinderella."
It was a perfect fit. "Thanks a lot for finding me. I would have never thought to look here. I still have no idea how the shoe got here." Trisha reminded herself of the time she found her lost shoe in LaGuardia Airport 100 yards away from where she lost it. This time it was several miles - a much more significant distance.
Jay added, "I guess some things are not meant to be explained."
Jay and Trisha walked out of the theater complex hand in hand and before stepping off the curb, Trisha stopped, "Hold on a moment, let me wipe off the bottom of my foot some more. It's bothering me." Trisha stopped next to a black pick-up truck with tinted windows that was seemingly illegally parked in front of the building. She gripped the heel of her shoe with her hand and rested them on the edge of rim of the truck bed for balance. As Trisha rubbed the bottom of her foot with her free hand, the pickup suddenly moved. Trisha was startled and the motion caused her to lose grip on the shoe and it fell off into the truck bed. Jay motioned for the truck to stop but his effort was to no avail. They both failed in the haste to get the truck's license plate.
Secretly pleased, Trisha noted, "Well, easy come...easy go. Let's stop by Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone on the way back to your place." A stunned Jay obliged and enjoyed the rest of their one shod evening.
