First ride impressions of this bike:
Engine misses under acceleration. At idle, engine speed slowly increases, slows again after throttle is "blipped". A classic case of "Amal-itis", methinks. Petrol has been flooding back through the RH carb, rotting a hole in the air cleaner rubber. Carb slide and body shows considerable wear.
The gearbox will miss the shift from 2nd to 3rd under brisk acceleration, but shifts okay under moderate acceleration.
Rear brake pads jam on, and the disc gets very hot.
It leaks a lot of oil after a hard run.
The airbox covers do not seal. They are made of crappy plastic that has buckled with age. There is a 1 - 2mm gap between the plastic outer cover and the aluminium casting of the inner airbox.
Apart from that, this bike feels very grunty and handles beautifully.
