LIVE AT THE FILLMORE
CYPRESS HILL
Columbia Records/Sony Music Entertainment
Ranking 8.5/10

For those familiar with Cypress Hill, they seem more like an odyssey than a real rock/hip hop group. They have set standards, turned heads, and made themselves into legends with their own unique indo-based lyrics & cutting edge beats and guitar riffs. This live album exemplifies the overwhelming power and poise that the group yields on stage and with their fans.

Cypress Hill is B-Real & Sen Dog on vocals, DJ Muggs at the turntable and Eric Bobo on drums. And if you've heard any of Cypress Hill's new material you'll have taken notice to the skillful guitar work of Jeremy Fleener, bass of Frank Mercurio and guitar of Andy Zambrano. This trio form Sen Dog's strictly alternative group known as SX-10. All in all this is one talent stricken crew! After a couple quick listens to this live album, you'll certainly recognize that fact. Not only does 'Live At The Fillmore' provide 17 of Cypress Hill's greatest tracks, but amazingly their live renditions prove even more appealing than the originals. Without a doubt, Cypress Hill provides an amazing live show.

Tracks performed live include "Insane In The Brain," "(Rock) Superstar," "Hits From The Bong," their latest single, "Can't Get The Best of Me," "How I Could Just Kill A Man," "Stoned Is the Way Of The Walk," "Cock The Hammer" and many more.

To be honest, I couldn't get enough of this album. Cypress Hill has always been one of my favorite groups, and when I've seen several artists put out weak live albums, this live album is the complete opposite. I was insanely impressed by this little piece of artwork. What makes it even more impressive is Cypress Hill's claim that "This Recording is 100% real - it contains no-post recording overdubs or studio sweetening." If you've ever enjoyed Cypress Hill, then don't be shy to this album, it's worth picking up!
