Sometimes the best thing you can do is to put it away for awhile.Do something else.Go for a walk, see a movie.Do whatever you want or don´t do anything at all. Then when you think you are ready you can look at your song again later. In time something will come up.
You can always ask someone you know for an opinion.Maybe they can help you write the rest of you song?Or maybe not..If you find other people´s help useful that´s great if not so what?Atleast you tryéd.I don´t want to sound negative but sometimes it´s best to work alone. If you´re writing a song along with other people/band members the pressure for make a song right can block alot of your creativity.Having people hanging over you can be really distracting.I know this can seem obivious for some of you but i know it happens.
If you read my first songwriting article you may have followed my recording tips.Play these tapes now maybe you can find what you are looking for there. You can do the same with lyrics by creating a lyric library.Fill up books with possible song titles, words, short phrase, poems, half written songs,an idea for a song anything you can come up with. For more about this read lyric library. If you do this you can allmost be sure to find something.I recommend that for every idea you find useful and decide to use it try to create a few new ideas and place them in your recording/lyrical library. That way you´ll always have something there.
Every now and then we get stuck. When we do we can´t expect to find solutions to solve our problems all the time.If we could come up with a solution everytime we got stuck we would probably have written thousands of great songs. Now would´nt that be great?
