TROOP 70 PICTURE BOOK

July 1999
Haliburton Trip

Page 9

On July 2 - July 11, 1999, Troop 70 traveled to Haliburton Scout Reserve, Ontario (Canada) for summer camp.  The scouts enjoyed activities at the camp that included repelling, kayaking, snorkeling, small boat sailing, wilderness survival, and canoeing, just to name a few.  In addition to summer camp at HSR, we also made a stop at Niagara Fall.  Troop 70 would like to thank the outstanding staff at HSR and all the adult who helped make this trip possible.

All the gear must be transported to our campsite by a barge
(or in our case, two barges).

This was our kitchen and dinning area.

One of the more challenging activities, repelling.

You can't go to Canada without doing some fishing.

Kayaking was one of the favorite activities at camp.

Here, Jeff A. shows the improper way to get out of a kayak.

I'll have to look this up in the canoeing merit badge book.
Is this the proper way to exit a canoe?

On the way back from Haliburton, we stopped at Niagara Falls.
