Trailcraft Troop 123 History   -    Page 2
In the 1930's it was nothing for the troop to load up a bunch of scouts in an old orange truck and take off with the scoutmaster on a canoe trip, trip to Mexico City, Yellowstone or where ever.

I have talked with those that went to Mexico City - the three week trip cost each boy $16.25!

I have also spoken with a couple that were on the Yellowstone trip.  Riding across Wyoming during a snow storm all the scouts huddled in the back of the orange truck, covering themselves with gear and hay to try to keep warm.  Some trip - Winter Haven to Yellowstone National Park and back in the back of a orange truck--18 boys and 1 adult!!!

The scouts went to 4 National Jamborees the same way - all piled in the back of an orange truck.

They also had frequent beach trips and trips to the Everglades.
