This will serve as a guideline for the Scoutmaster. These consequences have been established to serve as a mimimum penalty for violating major troop rules. The Troop Committee may add to the penalty. The consequences may not be limited to the minimum requirements, but may include even stiffer penalties--upto and possibly including expulsion from the troop. Parents/guardians will be contacted immediately concerning the infraction. Drugs/Alcohol: 90 days suspension & 30 hours of service, plus a written report, or expulsion from the troop. Durgs and alcohol will be turned over to local law enforcement personnel. Tobacco: 30 days suspension & 10 service hours Theft: 30 days suspension & 10 service hours (minimum penalty) Fighting: 30 days suspension & 6 service hours (1st time penalty) The scout will remain on suspension until all service hours are completed. If a scout is expelled, the scout may reapply for readmission after the expulsion period has ended, unless he has been permanently expelled. Repeat offenders of any major rules will be permanently expelled from Troop 123. If any Florida law is broken, the authorities shall be contacted prior to notifying the parents. |
