What We Have Been Doing
We have been busy this year. We have done a lot of different activities and try-its. You can find out what try-its we have worked on by visiting any of our pages.
One of the first activities we have done this year was have an overnight at the leader's house. We all dressed in 1950's clothing. We were working on the try-it Brownie Girl Scouts Through the Years. We completed the try-it and didn't even realize it. We had popcorn, rootbeer floats, and we watched Lady and the Tramp. We also listened and danced to some songs from the 50's. We played Twister and Life to finish the try-it.
Some of the activities we have done this year include a hayride and bonfire in November. This was a family event. Moms, dads, brothers and sisters all went. At the bonfire, we had hot apple cider and we made s'mores. We really like making them, we like eating them even better.
We went camping in November with the Junior Troop that Ms. Pam is a co-leader. We went on a hike, we learned how to use a compass and how to use the compass to get us from one point to another. We saw a beaver dam and we went snype hunting.
We have had two more sleepovers at Ms. Pam's house. We have worked on several try-its. But the last one was to mainly work on Thinking Day swaps. We studied Japan for Thinking Day. We made fan swaps. We took 1st place in Display at Thinking Day. We also wore Kimonos that our moms made for us. Ms. Pam and Ms. Joanne also wore Kimonos.
In January some of us went with the Junior Troop to a chalet. The Juniors and Bridging Brownies earned their Frosty Fun badge. We had fun, we had a snowball fight and made snow angels.
Some of the trips we have taken were to Dominos Pizza. At Dominos we saw where everything is kept and we got to make pizzas. The pizzas we made, we ate for lunch once the tour was over. After the pizza, we went to Mt. Vernon. Mt. Vernon is the home of George Washington. We toured his house and the grounds. We plan on going back to do one of the activities in the spring.
We also saw a play Babes in Toyland. We had a lot of fun. We ot to go backstage after the show to look around.
Some of the activities coming up are the Me & My Guy Aloha Dance that we will be working on. It is a luau theme. In June we are going to be going to encampment and the theme is Luau also. We don't know yet what we have to do except make a volcano. We will know more when it gets a little closer.
We are now in the process of selling cookies. We have our booth sales in March. The money is going to be used for us to go to encampment.
