Location Troop 351 is located in Assen, The Netherlands, a farming town of 50,000 people, 40 miles south of the North Sea, and 30 miles west of the German border. Our troop is chartered by the International Christian Church of Assen, the only English-speaking Christian church within a 150-mile radius. We are registered Boy Scouts of America in the Charlemagne District (composed of Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxemburg) in the Transatlantic Council (western and eastern Europe). |
People Our purpose is to provide a fantastic Scouting opportunity for English-speaking boys who: 1) have already been working toward BSA rank advancements in the States, 2) may not otherwise have access to Scouting in their native English, 3) feel uncomfortable in a Scouting unit conducted in a different language. We are a troop of many nations. Our boys come primarily from the International School at Maartenscollege, in Haren, The Netherlands, 13 miles north of Assen. We welcome boys of any nation or religion who are English-speaking and/or are registered and active members of our chartered organization, the International Christian Church of Assen, per BSA regulations. |
Program Our goal is to pursue outdoor adventure, serve the community, and develop leadership skills in the boys, through an annual program planned by the boys and for the boys. See our Troop Calendar of Events for detail about our program. |
