    Information

This is a ONE overnight backpacking trip. We will be leaving the First Presby parking lot AT 7am! Unfortunately, only kids can sleep on the 2-2.5 hour trip.

    Depart Church: 7am Saturday September 25, 2004

Arrival Lunch: Pack-in bag lunch at parking area before hiking-in. Pre-made sandwiches, bagels, cheese, fruit, drinks will suffice.

    Return: ~4pm Sunday September 26th, 2004 @ First Presby (Troop 5 celebrates it's 90th Anniversary! =) )

Camping will consist of ONE night only. The camp site is a couple of miles from the parking spot (you will cross a swinging bridge, be prepared!). All of you r personal gear and FOOD must be transported in a backpack (you may rent one from the troop). You must bring and carry everything you need! Nobody is going to carry it for you! You should buddy-up, unless you're big on heavy packs. This buddy can assist you with tents, stove, meals. Ensure you and a buddy have a complete tent, working stove, full fuel bottle, and whatever you need to cook with (pot and lid, spoon, etc).

The weather is iffy, most likely mild temperatures and a chance of some rain (quite some chance last year). Check out the weather at Elkins, WV and Be Prepared! There may be one or more creek crossings, hence, wateproof boots are a good idea.

There really is no cost for this trip, but you may find a $10 or $20 bill handy at times.

Any dads are more than welcome to participate. If you have any questions, you may send an e-mail.
