Administration

Communication: The method of communication among the troop will be discussed at the Parent Information Meeting. Keeping up with troop communication is her responsibility and you should not have to remind her.

Costs:    There is a $10 annual registration fee for each Girl Scout as well as for each adult volunteer. This money goes directly to Girl Scouts USA and does not stay with the troop, Service Unit 38, or Girl Scouts of Santa Clara County (GSSCC).

For our troop, there is a $30 annual dues collected at the beginning of each school year. This money goes towards badge and patch costs as well as helping to keep down the costs of any field trips.

For field trips, part of the cost of each field trip will be covered by the troop. The scouts will be asked to pay the remaining portion. There is financial aid available from the GSSCC for those who qualify.

Fundraising

Below is some information about the Girl Scout fundraising activities. The links provided will take you the the GSSCC website for additional information on each fundraiser.

Fall Products: The Nuts & Magazines (QSP) program begins in October.  QSP is a magazine-ordering program, and is NOT a door-to-door fundraiser.  QSP is intended for scouts and their families to order or renew magazines they would normally get.  The local Girl Scouts receive approximately 40% of total sales. Our troop can earn from 10 - 20% of their total sales, which go directly to the troop treasury to pay for the many activities we do.

Spring Products: The most famous fund-raiser in Girl Scouting is Cookies.  Scouts take orders in January, make deliveries in February, and do booth sales in March of each year.  This is our major fund-raising source.
