Troop 759 Activities Coordinator’s Report
September, 2008
Updated 9-17-08
Upcoming Events:
September 9, 16, 23 - Troop Elections – to be held during troop meetings
September 26-28- Field Sports Challenge – Broad Creek – this is a District event so we don’t need a lot of planning. Registration was due by September 12. Have we filed the registration and do we have appropriate adult supervision for this event?
October 3-5 - Caving with Crew – Laurel Caverns, near Uniontown, PA. Sign-ups should be completed and we will need to finalize transportation, patrols and cooking/food assignments.
October 24-26 - Webelos-O-Ree – Broad Creek – mark this on your calendars. The event will be held at camp Saffran. We are committed to running the archery range. We will need to determine leadership, transportation and patrol assignments. Our rosters are due to the event leaders by October 13.
November 7-9 - Historic Trails Camp & Hike - We need to assign an adult to lead this event and do some specific planning to develop a detailed plan. Since the beach trip was canceled, we need at least on night of overnight camping so that scouts can meet the first class requirements in one year.
Other Items for Discussion:
Money for the overnighter on the Coast Guard Cutter Taney will be due soon. The cost is $35 per person.
Archery Practice – The Franciscan Friars Monastery will allow us to set up an archery range on their site. I will pursue setting up a range on the following dates so we are prepared for Webelos-O-Ree:
We need to ramp up preparations for the Ski Trip, which is scheduled for Jan. 23-26, 2009. Updated
