Previous Minutes: Last month’s minutes were approved as written.
Committee Chair’s Report: Nothing to report
Treasurer’s Report: Submitted in writing.
Scout Master’s Report: Nothing to report
Greenbar Report:
-Scouts discussed the how courteous, kind and friendly should be applied to scouting in the troop.
-Green Bar recommended making the June white water rafting trip a family event.
-The concept of having a “Troop trailer decal contest,” as proposed by the committee last month, was not discussed at meeting.
Advancement Chairperson Report:
-Carol is still compiling the data for the upcoming Courts of Honor
-Jeremy’s Eagle COH is scheduled for 5:00 PM, Sat. April 28, 2007 at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6400 Waterloo Rd, Columbia, MD 21045. Those interested need to RSVP to Jean James at (410)540-9911 or jeanjames@comcast.net by April 17.
-Robert’s Eagle COH is scheduled for 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Emory United Methodist Church, 3810 Church Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043
-Weseley’s Eagle COH is scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Rockburn Park, Elkridge, MD; More details to follow
-COH scheduled for May 8, might be rescheduled to May 15 pending the date for the “swim test.”
-Quartermaster’s Report:
-A lot of progress has been made in organizing and labeling troop equipment.
Merit Badge Counselors Report: Pat will contact Anita about acquiring troop merit counselors list.
Activities Coordinator Report: Submitted in writing along with the following highlights.
-No Swim test on April. Possible alternate dates are 4/24, 5/8 and 5/15.
-Troop will hike/backpack the 10 mile historic trail at Antietam Battlefield on May 18-20 trip. The Troop is scheduled to camp at Shepherds Spring Outdoor Ministry Center. Shepherd Spring is not charging the troop, but the committee voted to offer a $100 donation to the Ministry. Details will be forthcoming.
- The committee voted to accept the Green Bars recommendation to make the June White Water Rafting trip a family event, with the qualification that none scout youth must be in the same raft as their parent and that the responsibility for said none scout youth rest with his/her own parent. All scout youths and leaders must pass the swim test prior to the trip. Outfitter costs are: $46 (rafting equipment, guide, and transportation to/from river) plus $14 (3 meals on Saturday). Additional cost for transportation, cracker barrel snacks and Sunday breakfast are forthcoming.
-Howard is trying to schedule adult youth protection training for May 1. Note: Howard has confirmed with Bill Marose the training for May 1 starting at 8:00 PM at Hebron House(to follow the CPR refresher course.)
Roundtable Minutes: Submitted in writing along with the following highlights.
- Robin has scheduled CPR/First Aid refresher course with Tammy Cinotto. Participants will have a 10 minute session on April 24 followed by an hour session on May 1 starting at 7:00 PM
-Robin will try to get Kraig to come in for OA elections on April 15. OA eligibility: a scout must be at least first class, attended at least 15 nights camping (only one summer camp week can be applied) and have scoutmaster’s approval. For election, at least 50% of the registered scouts must be present.
Webmaster’s Report:
-Additional documents are needed to populate the “archives” section of the troop web.
-Pictures from events are needed.
-Adult training and merit badge counselor records need to be updated and posted on the web page.
