Activities Coordinator Report: Submitted in writing along with the following highlights.
-Howard is still collection for Friends of Scouting.
-Troop needs to firm up the plans for a swim test. Pat is going to talk to the YMCA again. The general feeling from the committee was that the Arundel Olympic Swim Center was too far to travel. The troop has the option to rent the pool (with life guards) at Howard County Community College, but this is our most expensive option. Carol motioned that if the YMCA is not viable, then the troop should go to HCCC with the troop paying for the usage fee. Dale seconded the motion and it passed with a unanimous vote. Brian asked if Crew 759 was invited to join. The general response was yes.
-Troop meeting for 3/20/07: for the upcoming camping trip this weekend the Troop needs to get scout and parent counts, form patrols, set-up tent buddies, establish menus (and some one to purchase) and work out transportation. Dale and Brian are planning on leaving around 1:00 PM. Scouts need to pick up blue cards for archery and shot gun!!!!
-Troop is looking at several options for the May 18-20 back pack trip. We need to look a place that is fairly local so that scouts will be back in time for Robert’s Eagle COH. Dale volunteered to be the adult POC. Camp Wood in Gun Powder State park was suggested. (As a follow up, Camp Wood youth area is already reserved for that weekend.) Areas on the C&O (Paw-Paw, 15 Mile Creek, Antietam and Shepherd Spring) were also suggested. Mary said that she knows a person within a 10 minute drive of Antietam that may be willing to let the troop camp.
Roundtable Minutes: Submitted in writing along with the following highlights.
- Robin will get a list of the individuals that attended the CPR/First Aid class last and schedule a refresher. Tammy Cinotto has the troop on her calendar for renewal in April.
-Robin will check on the OA Ordeal date.
- Robin reported that the troop needs to appoint an OA POC and have OA election.
Webmaster’s Report:
-Dale reported that a link to the troop “archives” is now on the troop web page. Back packing, hiking and tent camping pages are populated with the documents that he had. Additional documents are needed. Other pages are set up, but documents have not been populated as of the committee meeting.
-Pictures from events are needed.
-Dale inquired about documentation of the swim test. Brian stated that with the exception of Summer Camp, records are not documented. Brian suggested that we start recording the dates.
-Dale noted that adult training and merit badge counselor records need to be updated and posted on the web page.
Meeting: Started 7:09 PM; Ended 8:41 PM
