                                                 TROOP 7 RECEIVES FUNDING

The International Paper Foundation held it's annual luncheon, on Tuesday,  June 21, 2005 at the Mary Calder Golf Course. The purpose of the event was to recognize the important work being performed by local non profit organizations and the community  involvement of  International Paper Employees. This year, The  International Paper Foundation awarded over seventy thousand dollars to various organizations.
Troop 7 received funding thru The Employee Involvement Award. Mr. Swindell  of our troop works at International Paper (IP)  as a Power Utilities Operator. Mr. Swindell has worked with IP for fifteen years.  He has severed as Troop 7's, Scoutmaster, Chaplin, Eagle Projects Coordinator and  now host the troop's website. When asked about his job, Mr. Swindell said, " I really enjoy working for IP and sincerely appreciate being part of a company that supports youth development programs like scouting."
The Scouts and Parents of Troop 7 would like to thank,  The International Paper Foundation for their continued support of our children and scouting family. Investing in youth today to make more productive adults tomorrow.
