Troop 90 stays at Camp Mattatuck every year for one week in July. The boys enjoy a fun-filled week earning merit badges towards Eagle, and having fun at the archery range and rifle range. The boys enjoy meals at the dining hall and troop swimming and boating at the waterfront. Many fun-filled activities can be experienced throughout the week including black powder shooting, shotgun shooting, scuba diving, and many more. Merit Badges offered include Wilderness Survival, Environmental Science, Sports, Pioneering, Orienteering, Weather, Soil & Water Conservation, Forestry, Lifesaving, Small Boat Sailing, Climbing, Personal Fitness,Oceanography, Cooking, Camping, Canoeing, Whitewater Rafting, Rifle Shooting, Archery, Swimming, Basketry, Leatherwork, Rowing, Geology, Fish & Wildlife Management, Mammal Study, Shotgun Shooting, Reptiles & Amphibians, Geology, and Nature. Project COPE and Mountain Biking is also offered during the week. At the end of the week the boys participate in a camp-wide game with the winners taking home the prize, In past yearsTroop 90 has won led by Chris Wysoczanski and Rob McAviney as well as Dan Neal leading the Troop 90 to victory with a win in the camp game. |
