Troop 200 meets at the Church Of The Risen Savior, 7100 Wyoming Blvd, NE, every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. The first half hour is our gathering period as many of the scouts are invloved in school or sports activities or both. Meetings consist of working on advancement, scout skills and merit badges.
We are an outdoor troop. Activities include but are not limited to, camping, rock climbing, backpacking and hiking. And anything else the parents and scouts desire that will accomplish the scouting program.
Our major summer event is a two week camp in the Colorado Rockies. The first week is a base camp. We spend every other day in camp working on several merit badges and whatever Forest Service projects they have for us to do. We will do about 30 miles of hiking on the days out of camp, in order to build up legs and lungs to prepare for the second week.
The second week consists of a backpacking trek and trail work, at several different locations in the same area. We will do about thirty miles and do some fishing and other activities as time and weather allow. |
