NOTES: (1) Items in [brackets] should be left (if clean) in pack from overnight to overnight. Items in (parentheses) are hints or explanations. Items in italics are suggested, but not required (2) Preferred material in order of comfort is 1) wool, 2) polyester, 3) cotton. (3) Personal knives are allowed if they are “locking” blades. No sheath knives, no switchblades. Personal saws are ok, but No personal axes. (4) Don’t bring electronics except small inexpensive radios. (5) Money should be restricted to small amounts. ($5.00 for a patch and a soda, for example.) (6) Food should be limited to fruit and small snacks. (Required bag lunches and drinks will be announced). (7) This list is recommended, but is far from complete. As your scout becomes more involved he may require additional equipment. See pages 224-225, 208-210, 203-204, and 264 of the Handbook. |
