After making sure that every one of his Marines had already had a chance to call home on a satellite phone available to his unit, Brian called Brooke this past weekend. He says he's doing fine and so are his men. They are "somewhere in Iraq that is not Baghdad." Apparently morale dropped a lot when the boys found out they weren't going to Baghdad, but it is high again now that the fighting is done. No word on when they may be coming home. Brooke sort of hopes it will be soon, but if they get home before July, they will be sent right back out again on another tour!! So keep saying those prayers and hope that Brian and his men will be coming home to stay, safe and sound, as soon as possible.
Also, on a very sad note, one of the officers that Brian worked with was killed in Nasiriya. It was 2nd Lt. Frederick E. Pokorney Jr., killed on March 23rd. I will add more details about this when I have them. Please pray for his family.
